Todays discussion, Vehicle to Infantry Repair/Transporters, these are found on the Limbus (Armor Repair) or Charybdis (Shield Transporter)
Right now, I find them quite intolerable, I mean the entire function is very annoying trying to get the things in place. When trying to run them I have to ask my squad to stop so I can lock on to them, meaning they're more likely to get killed because they're standing still.
I'd like to discuss two options with these repairs, and I'd really like some feedback. Note, GM/CCP guys, this isn't a feedback thread, this is feedback for my eventual feedback thread, so it's a discussion and belongs in this forum, kthx.
Option 1: Logistic Bubble
When the module is activated, a bubble is created around the Logistics LAV, everyone inside the Bubble receives Armor or Shields depending on the vehicle.
For this to work, I'd suggest the following:
- Large Spherical radius - Reduced running time - Shorter Cooldown - Reduced HP (Not by much) per second - Not able to go through objects such as buildings.
Option 2: Redesign the current system
When the module is activated, you're able to lock on to infantry and when ready, you must hit the trigger and begin the repairs.
This is what it is currently, and needs a rework, the following suggestions: - Reduced lock on timer - Keep the Camera in the same place, rather than resetting to the default position every time you lock on to each player. - Allow beam to travel through walls (Most of the time, the rep is useless as it cuts out when someone goes past a lamppost or runs on bumpy terrain - Same cooldown, running time and healing per second
Additionally, some things need to be added overall to make being a logistical support vehicle worthwhile.
- Guardian Points, Armor or Shield repping, this should be basic for these vehicles, 35 points for Guardian like a repair tool. - Scan Assist, Running scans should give 5 Points per kill.
So, discuss pls? |

Seriously needs to be discussed, we've got all these whining little mugs crying about how strong the LLAV is, and when theres a way to make them useful without running people over, nobody responds, I'm sick of the infantry scrubs in this game.
I just sat in a match trying to play support, it was ******* awful, and in the end I died faster than I would if I had just gone around the match lolstomping everyone. |

I'm a firm believer that Logistic Vehicles should be hench, as long as there are measures in place to make it so it's very difficult to run people over and iirc there is a 50% reduction on the turret damage output. Anything weaker and they'll never be used on the front line, ever. |

Bumping, I'm open to hearing changes on the options I've presented, they're just general outlines of course. |

Eh it would make sense if the driver couldn't be shot out :P I still believe there should be a Logistic Support Medium Vehicle, that is slow but strong, and offers driver protection. Then it makes sense, it's a support vehicle, with sensors and repairs available as well as Troop Transport. |

I'm pretty sure that's what the MAV is for, as I'm sure there will be a LMAV variant for that as well. All LAVs, including the LLAV, should be very fragile. Of course the LLAV should have slightly higher health/resist than the others, but right now it's just dumb. High health + high resist = bad.
Well thats what I mean, when the MAV comes along it needs the Logistic variant, but then the LLAV will become obsolete, why bother with it? If the LAV is meant to be a vehicle for assaulting but very weak, there shouldn't be a logistics variant. |

Locking onto moving infantry, well, even stood still ones takes to long and is a pita, I agree, some kinda hive bubble would be much better
Also would be sweet to drive around dishing out ammo, or even have some kind of dropsuit swapout thing (like supply depot) as depots always getting blown up
Not really having a issue locking onto tanks, and you can distance yourself quite far from tanks while healingh to avoid running into each other, bubble would have to be "big" to get the same distance
Do we not get guardian points? i swear i've got some healing tanks..... (could be trippin tho)
I'd keep the lock on for vehicles, it works pretty well considering you only need to lock on once and they're quite large, but Infantry you can multiple lock on and they're small guys, takes forever to get your squad ready to move.
Supply Depot Module would be awesome, maybe if you had a limited amount of nanites for Ammo replenishment? Would balance it out nicely for the extra WP coming in.
We don't get guardian points as shield reppers, but I've been told that if you're repping armor you get points (Don't know if thats the Infantry Rep or Vehicle Rep, forgot to ask Popa) |
