My Active Scanner jams if I'm holding it when it completes its recharge cycle. Put it away, pull it back out and it works fine. Replicated jamming scenario multiple times yesterday with the A-19 model. Noticed another thread here earlier talking about that. One person in that thread mentioned that meleeing with the Scanner out would fix the problem. Can you try this next time you scan and report back? Additionally, if it does fix the issue, does it fix it completely or do you need to melee after every scan? Additionally to everyone else on the repair tool, if you melee to get the reticule back and repair someone, does it disappear after you lose lock on the person you were repairing? And if you do lose the reticle, does it come back after meleeing again? Answers to these questions will help the QA guys nail this bug to the wall faster, so your help is appreciated! The only instance of this I've experienced I was [b]unable to melee[/u] once my repair reticle vanished. Swaping through two other items - one light weapon and one alternate piece of equipment - caused both the repair tool reticle and the ability to melee while holding it, to return.

Ok it appears that it's more to do with changing the item in use, not just the reptool - when I've been switching to my sidearm it seems much more sluggish than previously and I'm getting killed a lot more than I would before and trying to throw down an uplink or nanohive whilst running/moving is now nigh on impossible and you have to stop, stand still and really concentrate on putting that sucker down on the floor to get it there.... then I get killed again! |

Some more feedback.
I'm wondering if this is related to the racial suit. I get the issue on my Minmatar Logi, but not my Gallente logi!
Can the bro's out there with the issue post what racial suit they have the problem with, see if we can narrow down if its related? |

I run Gallente Logi but still have the repair tool bug. |

Isn't it easier for the DEVS to hop into a game? The bug is happening every time when I run with a repairtool...so it shouldn't be to difficult to replicate it. Don't worry, we're also jumping in and testing things. But more data can help us get bugs replicated and fixed quicker, which means we can get even more bugs squished which is always a good thing!
I'm using the 'Dren' Logi suit.
Most of my repair tool issues come when I'm transitioning from running to normal movement. Sometimes I can't get the targeting reticule back at all.
I must say, just like others have been adding to this thread, there's issues with changing weapons/equipment. It's really starting to get frustrating when I'm trying to switch to a nanite injector, only to have my primary weapon pop back up. So right now, I either get turned into toothpaste on the field because I'm standing over a corpse, still trying to get the equipment to switch, or committing suicide with my mass driver cuz I only have a split second to make a change and then... oooops!
I've had plenty of times where I just have to get to a safe spot, and I'm carefully moving the dial to select new equipment and it still won't go... |

ShaunOP wrote:Malaee with the rep tool. This worked for me.
The bug is intermittent. Some battles it happens all the time others only occasionally. I find when I'm sprinting to aid an injured team mate, when I'm selecting the rep tool it stops me from sprinting and then when the rep tool is in hand i then have to melee to get the rep tool to work. All this is wasted valuable time to be able to help a team mate. It can be the difference between healing a team mate or dyeing yourself because you had to stand still to get your rep tool out and then try and get your rep tool to work. Very frustrating. Even without the rep tool bug I find it hard sometimes switching from weapon to equipment. I find I have to stand still and then try and switch to injector or hives. Or I've selected injector but a hive is equipped so have to select the injector a bit slower while standing over a bleeding out team mate. Half the time I can't revive because I'm too slow or I get shot just standing there. Keep working on it CCP. |

I've been having the rep tool lock up as well. This has been paired with the nanite injector being slow to pop up and slow to activate. If I try to use either my rep tool or active scanner either is non-responsive. |

Seems I was wrong, both my Gallente and Minmatar (adv/pro) suits have the bug, so probably not related. |

Have you guys looked into giving rep bonus for logi lav? currently you get no rep bonus as you would for infantry tools.
Also is it a bug that you lose lock really easily for logi lav reps? Its a pretty terrible system currently. They need more range and some leeway for going behind objects. OR at least allow it to relock after they come out from behind said object...currenyly all you can do it turn it off and wait for cool down. Really frustrating for it you to get it locked and repping only for the person to move just far enough away that the rep stops and then it has to go into cooldown. |

Hey, BUG UPDATE. I've also been having massive probs with the repper not firing. Today though I jumped off a building and activated inertial dampener on the way down. Once I landed the repper was working again and the reticule was showing up. Hope it helps. |

The injector and rep tool are definitely broken...again. The injector hesitates for way to long the animation is choppy and half the time it seems like the victim dies when its used on them. I have also noticed that watching others use the injector the animation is way off. the user falls down like he died and then stands back up with the victim.
I also noticed a wierd animation watching a squad mate use his scanner. His torso bent over backwards like a scene from the grudge when he used it.
The repair tool refuses to lock onto a target and makes it useless 70% of the time... |

I have to say that I am looking for reasons to keep playing this game right now and this is not helping....I guess I should check back in september or october? I've been around awhile and I am growing weary of broken game mechanics. |

Some valuable feedback (or at least, I hope) concerning the Rep Tool and the Active Scanners.
When it comes to the Rep Tool I feel like the problem has something to do with your connection to Tranquility. When I play in the mornings (right after downtime, non-peak hours, nobody home using the wireless connection), I don't have much trouble being able to quickly switch from something to my Rep Tool and vice versa. However when traffic is changed (afternoon/evening my time, UTC around 1800, peak hours, many people on my wireless connection), I find that I have the same problem.
And worse actually. If I switch too fast (we're talking, "the-menu-isn't-fully-up-and-I've-already-selected-my-rep-tool") my main weapon actually BECOMES my repair tool. As in there is an animation glitch where the client recognizes I've switched to my Rep Tool but the server doesn't think so (speculative guess, but I feel it might be the reason why) and shows my main weapon, however I'm holding it weird and awkwardly. I've had this happen not only with the AR but with the MD as well meaning this doesn't look like it's weapon specific.
Active Scanner: I've had this happen with all the Active Scanners. If you have it out when you finish the cooldown, you are unable to use it again until you switch equipment/weapon. Haven't tried sprinting or melee so I'll try and test that when I can.

Really frustrating for it you to get it locked and repping only for the person to move just far enough away that the rep stops and then it has to go into cooldown. Actually I SOMEHOW GOT THIS TO WORK....
Which is bizarre because I can't even do it or call in the LLAV's...
(I'm really wishing I had the ability to record because I clearly saw TRIAGE and GUARDIAN come up when I was repairing a blueberry.)
Let me explain the situation real quick though.
Ambush match. Friendly blueberry calls in an LLAV. I'm going around doing my own thing when they pull up and get sniped out of the drivers seat.
Now I know some blueberries are idiots and go and use vehicles to their pleasure, but I will try and save the vehicle, as I know the saved vehicle will go back into their inventory. So while I can't recall it for them, I do my best to keep an expensive vehicle alive and away from combat until the end of the match. And if I remember the name of the person I'll give it back to them as soon as I can. But non-relevant... moving on...
I jumped in the vehicle and first order of business was to drive it away and rep the vehicle. Naturally, the repper (whether shield or armor) is usually in the top spot and was surprised to be looking at the remote reticule for a moment, only to remember that I just saved an LLAV and hence was staring at the Infantry Remote Repper.
So I wanted to see how fast and what it was like to try and target infantry and repair them, especially since I started getting support from a nearby heavy blueberry. So I try to run over a redberry and miss because my driving skills suck, but with the redberry's attention on me, the heavy chewed him to bits with his HMG.
I decide to take this opportunity to repair him, since I don't have a repper, but naturally the LogiBro in me said "Hey, heal that Heavy man." And so I do. It is now where I am taken for a huge surprise.
Another redberry starts attacking at long range and the Heavy turns and guns him down. The sweeping thought came across my mind how I'd normally get Guardian points if I was running my LogiBro suit if he killed him. AND THEN THE UNTHINKABLE: GUARDIAN POINTS. First words were "HOLY S***! IT'S FIXED NOW?"
With the redberry gunned down I then am startled by a second popup: TRIAGE POINTS. I am about to follow the heavy but 2 more redberries take him down quick. Maybe he moved out of rep range, or maybe the repper couldn't keep up, who knows... I was still sitting there in shock as I may have been the first one EVER to see the logi points come from the LLAV. Not to mention I don't even HAVE an LLAV.
By the way, don't sit in shock for too long as this story ends here due to a Forge Gun to the face (yeah, I get Forged out of the driver's seat, vehicle still intact ).
But I had just witnessed the most amazing thing ever. The return of logipoints for vehicles? Could it be?
Unfortunately, as I stated before, I am unable to test as I have no skills into LLAV's. However, it may have worked due to 1 of 2 possible things.
1) I am not skilled into any vehicle skills whatsoever and due to my "unskill" was able to trip it into thinking that points WERE to be distributed. So either there was a bug in the system or CCP did a hotpatch in order to turn it off and reversed the effect by using the skill system. OR
2) Guardian points are needed to trip it before getting triage points and/or more guardian points to work properly. I do recall I had been repping the heavy for a good 3 or 4 seconds, long enough for a Triage Points to appear however it initially didn't. But once the Guardian points were triggered, it allowed the Triage Points to work. Maybe?
Anyways, off topic but had to get this info out as I remembered while reading your post. At this point I'm starting to wonder if I should start asking the community for donations to get a video capture card... |

Not sure it's the same bug but this is a repair tool bug thread.
Also not sure it's a bug as such.
Locking a target with the repper is frustrating. Sometimes it doesn't seem to acknowledge a target in the reticule. The brief pause before locking commences just adds to this frustration. Admittedly if the target is jumping about that doesn't ease matters. The multiple clicks on a target, coupled with the micro-pauses, produces this frustration.
It would be nice to have a repper that squirts out healing like an AR squirts out rounds but understand that may be impossible/undesirable in terms of game mechanics. |
