Some valuable feedback (or at least, I hope) concerning the Rep Tool and the Active Scanners.
When it comes to the Rep Tool I feel like the problem has something to do with your connection to Tranquility. When I play in the mornings (right after downtime, non-peak hours, nobody home using the wireless connection), I don't have much trouble being able to quickly switch from something to my Rep Tool and vice versa. However when traffic is changed (afternoon/evening my time, UTC around 1800, peak hours, many people on my wireless connection), I find that I have the same problem.
And worse actually. If I switch too fast (we're talking, "the-menu-isn't-fully-up-and-I've-already-selected-my-rep-tool") my main weapon actually BECOMES my repair tool. As in there is an animation glitch where the client recognizes I've switched to my Rep Tool but the server doesn't think so (speculative guess, but I feel it might be the reason why) and shows my main weapon, however I'm holding it weird and awkwardly. I've had this happen not only with the AR but with the MD as well meaning this doesn't look like it's weapon specific.
Active Scanner: I've had this happen with all the Active Scanners. If you have it out when you finish the cooldown, you are unable to use it again until you switch equipment/weapon. Haven't tried sprinting or melee so I'll try and test that when I can.

Also is it a bug that you lose lock really easily for logi lav reps? Its a pretty terrible system currently. They need more range and some leeway for going behind objects. OR at least allow it to relock after they come out from behind said object...currenyly all you can do it turn it off and wait for cool down. Really frustrating for it you to get it locked and repping only for the person to move just far enough away that the rep stops and then it has to go into cooldown. Actually I SOMEHOW GOT THIS TO WORK....
Which is bizarre because I can't even do it or call in the LLAV's...
(I'm really wishing I had the ability to record because I clearly saw TRIAGE and GUARDIAN come up when I was repairing a blueberry.)
Let me explain the situation real quick though.
Ambush match. Friendly blueberry calls in an LLAV. I'm going around doing my own thing when they pull up and get sniped out of the drivers seat.
Now I know some blueberries are idiots and go and use vehicles to their pleasure, but I will try and save the vehicle, as I know the saved vehicle will go back into their inventory. So while I can't recall it for them, I do my best to keep an expensive vehicle alive and away from combat until the end of the match. And if I remember the name of the person I'll give it back to them as soon as I can. But non-relevant... moving on...
I jumped in the vehicle and first order of business was to drive it away and rep the vehicle. Naturally, the repper (whether shield or armor) is usually in the top spot and was surprised to be looking at the remote reticule for a moment, only to remember that I just saved an LLAV and hence was staring at the Infantry Remote Repper.
So I wanted to see how fast and what it was like to try and target infantry and repair them, especially since I started getting support from a nearby heavy blueberry. So I try to run over a redberry and miss because my driving skills suck, but with the redberry's attention on me, the heavy chewed him to bits with his HMG.
I decide to take this opportunity to repair him, since I don't have a repper, but naturally the LogiBro in me said "Hey, heal that Heavy man." And so I do. It is now where I am taken for a huge surprise.
Another redberry starts attacking at long range and the Heavy turns and guns him down. The sweeping thought came across my mind how I'd normally get Guardian points if I was running my LogiBro suit if he killed him. AND THEN THE UNTHINKABLE: GUARDIAN POINTS. First words were "HOLY S***! IT'S FIXED NOW?"
With the redberry gunned down I then am startled by a second popup: TRIAGE POINTS. I am about to follow the heavy but 2 more redberries take him down quick. Maybe he moved out of rep range, or maybe the repper couldn't keep up, who knows... I was still sitting there in shock as I may have been the first one EVER to see the logi points come from the LLAV. Not to mention I don't even HAVE an LLAV.
By the way, don't sit in shock for too long as this story ends here due to a Forge Gun to the face (yeah, I get Forged out of the driver's seat, vehicle still intact ).
But I had just witnessed the most amazing thing ever. The return of logipoints for vehicles? Could it be?
Unfortunately, as I stated before, I am unable to test as I have no skills into LLAV's. However, it may have worked due to 1 of 2 possible things.
1) I am not skilled into any vehicle skills whatsoever and due to my "unskill" was able to trip it into thinking that points WERE to be distributed. So either there was a bug in the system or CCP did a hotpatch in order to turn it off and reversed the effect by using the skill system. OR
2) Guardian points are needed to trip it before getting triage points and/or more guardian points to work properly. I do recall I had been repping the heavy for a good 3 or 4 seconds, long enough for a Triage Points to appear however it initially didn't. But once the Guardian points were triggered, it allowed the Triage Points to work. Maybe?
Anyways, off topic but had to get this info out as I remembered while reading your post. At this point I'm starting to wonder if I should start asking the community for donations to get a video capture card... |
