I feel that academy got mor boring with just ambush 8v8 not saying I don't like the game just saying I prefer skirmish if u could like split academy like with the non noob game types that would be a good way to get noobs feet wet in planetary conquest |

Might have something to with experienced players getting bored and creating alts just to roll real newbies in the academy?
Guess it's not as fun now that it's only 8vs8 in an enclosed map. |

Why would they remove skirmish when skirmish is part of the game? How are they going to learn to play skirmish properly on those maps?
Jeeze, CCP. I have a lot of respect for you as a company and as game designers but it's as if the Dust Devs have a limited foresight on the updates they're creating. Newbs are going to have to learn how to play each type of match; when they go into live matches, they'll have no idea how to play skirmish and or will only frequent the ambush type of matches when they're out of Academy. Why force a new player to learn how to play a whole new match type AFTER leaving 'Academy'?

I have positive feedback on it. Those matches are great now, 8vs8, small amount of clones, constant action on close quarters - no waaaaaiting for someone to come and try hack objective . Squads stick together because maps size force them to do it, previously it was like giving bunch of noobs huge field to play on it and expecting that maybe they will find each other at the end. In 1.2 people was defending bases and MCC - they were not aware of redline.

I agree this is a odd decision. The new players have to experience all (most) game modes DUST has to offer, to learn things like hacking etc.
With that said, why not introduce a "ladder function" in the academy, instead of doing 8 vs 8 Ambush and be thrown at the (very) deep end when you hit X SP/WP.
It would work like this: - Fresh created character ("0" SP /WP) - only 8vs8 Ambush available -- Getting some experience (X SP /WP) - 8vs8 Ambush + 8vs8 Skirmish available --- Progressing further (X+ SP /WP) - 16vs16 Ambush + 8vs8 Skirmish available ---- etc
This way the newbie get to learn everything in small doses, and when the get to hit skirmish they already know the basic shooting mechanics... |

I also agree with most of you about CCP changing the Battle Academy. Having Ambush as the only available game mode may not be a good idea but I like that they made it easier for newbies to get accustomed to the game by making battles smaller. |

Battle Academy should be renamed "Dust Pre-School" for all the good it does now to get new players acquainted with the game proper.
Whoever put this idea through committee at CCP should be ashamed of themselves. |

Yo this new academy is such a joke....from one team, I saw the highest WP was 200 (3-2)....New players are sure gonna get out the Academy soon.... Lmao!
