No, they fixed that because it made ISK even more meaningless than it already is due to the fact that in EVE you can make billions in the time it would take you to make a few million on DUST. Without any taxation on money transfers from EVE you would see even more high end tank spam and throw away because "who cares, I bought 1000 at a time and still have cash left over to run whatever I want" |

You cant even veiw the mercenary wallet in eve but you can see the wallet divisions. you can put isk in the divisions and see those transactions in the divisions in dust but you have no way to access them in dust. |

They should open the market up for players to sell unwanted salvage/gear as well as item trading between players already.

This would make salvage yet another ISK faucet, devaluating the currency. The stuff should remain in the economy and sold to players so that ISK can travel around and more stuff gets blown up.
NPC buy orders are for sissies.

Well, you could ask for Eve/Dust players to swap. I would do it in small increments though. It's open to scamming and I'm sure people will be over cautious about the exchange rate.
What are you selling, Dust or Eve ISK? |

ISK faucets are NPC buy order and bounties. When ISK flows from a capsuleer to dust bunny, what happens is that ISK changes hands. No ISK is created.
Allowing ISK transfers (taxed or otherwise) will make life easier for people playing Planetary Conquest while making life harder for free-to-play folks who just want to play random battles against whoever is shooting back. There will be a huge incentive to either cough up cash for Aurum-bought proto armour or stop playing (if you don't like having your Militia geared squad continually steam-rollered by proto-geared subscribers).
Of course proper matchmaking would allow for battles to be resource-limited (e.g.: no vehicles, no proto gear), meaning that the only advantages you have over the other team are skills, coordination and map knowledge.
But I digress. Allowing ISK transfers from Capsuleers to Dust Bunnies would be awesome for people like me who don't have the time to grind dozens of battles in militia gear just to pay for a few games in "proper" gear. CCP could reduce the impact by restricting the volume of transfers to any single DUST entity per unit time (e.g.: a million ISK a week per mercenary, ten million per week per corp) and opening up the market for DUST goods to be manufactured by capsuleers (which encourages ISK to leave DUST wallets).
I am more interested in liberating the 5100 Aurum in various capsuleer wallets I control, to allow me to buy Aurum items.

ISK faucet?! That's incorrect thinking if you ever want to have a true market in a true economy. Having a thriving economy where players are selling ad buying goods as well as trading goods will do anything but devalue the currency. I have no idea how you got the idea of "devalued currency" in your head but it is erroneous and ill informed.
Then the last bit... NPC buy orders are for sissies. lol. ok turbo trader. You worried about the lack of volatility on your black box trading algorithm profits or what? As it stands, there has been only a couple of ways to make money playing this market, and all the holes have been plugged. Either you made out, or you missed it. Player Buy/Sell orders will be the next wave of opportunity that will fade away as the market corrects and stabilizes itself thereby reducing volatility. thereby reducing opportunity to profit. All of that aside, NPC orders are solely nice because it's a cut and dry risk free buy low sell high reap profit. But like I said, NPC orders are a moot point because the holes have been plugged.

What are you selling, Dust or Eve ISK? 1 billion eve isk to dust isk
I'll give you 25m Dust isk for 1bn Eve isk? Dust isk is worth more, no one is going to trade 1-to-1. CCP's economist said when they linked the economies they would start off with a very high tax rate when moving Eve isk to dust, and this rate would gradually be lowered as the economies balance. |

Deal. I have more than enough EvE ISk to warrant this transaction. I'll make it 1.2B if you send the Dust ISK now, as opposed to waiting until the transfers are implemented.

The problem here is the perceived value of ISK. The market will take care of adjusting ISK prices to realistic levels once capsuleers can manufacture the current range of NPC-supplied ISK-bought items. CCP may have to follow in terms of readjusting Aurum prices to reflect the actual value of proto gear (ie: that a suit with double the PG and CPU is worth more than just double the price).
A high tax rate is a good start as long as the intention is to reduce then remove those taxes once the two economies have adjusted to each other. It's like opening or shutting a high pressure water pipe: you don't go straight from closed to open otherwise you end up with pipes buckling, crimping or rupturing. I remain hopeful that we will see some movement in the merging of economies in the next 12 months. The longer DUST keeps running without being joined with the EVE economy, the worse the merger is going to be: people will have certain expectations of ISK values ingrained into their consciousness, and when market forces end up pricing a proto suit at 2.5M ISK instead of the current 200k ISK we will have Dust Bunnies rioting in the street.
Which makes me wonder, what would be the DUST514 equivalent of the "shooting the Jita monument"? |
