I have a few suggestions for tweaking the PC:
Make the projectile larger - this would make it easier to hit with.
Make the projectile do damage to nearby things while mid air - as in it would do damage while passing close to things.
Change the 'charge up' to either be a small fast projectile, with less drop, or a large slow projectile, with more drop - would make it a bit more intresting to use. - Change the magazine to a plasma container - the longer you charge the more you drain from the container
Hmm maybe do it the other way around: make it fire a slow large while not charged up and a small focused while charged up - so that it is easier to hit vehicles with it.
I am sure I had a few more thoughts about it... I'll get back to you guys on that. In the mean time feel free to share your thoughts on the suggestions. o/

Either different versions of the Plasma Cannon

Charging the Plasma Cannon makes it go to higher stages. ( This is the one I prefer! )
In which case you can add a version that lets you 'hold the charge' for a small time, maybe ~6secs before it overheats and you lose the charge

ADS-Add a range finder with estimate flight time and estimate drop over time ( Range: 100 meters, Time in air to reach 100 meters, Drop while traveling for x sec )

No need to change it, only having 1 shot is kind of fun when you get used to it! Maybe change the reload time depending on charge up and/or version of the PC

The two things that really stands out when using the plasma cannon are:
The Projectile is too small - if it was larger it would compensate for it moving so slow and having so much drop
No in-flight damage to nearby things - it's a ball of plasma, surely it would burn the shields if it passed mere milimeters from someones head
Otherwise I find it very fun to use, not always very effective but definitely one of the more charismatic weapons we have access to.
That being said: I've mainly used it against infantry. It's very decent at removing the shield from madrugars making way for you to follow up with AV-greades. Hitting dropships and LAVs with it is how ever very difficult.
