In Game Description: Originally used in deep space mining operations, the N1-X Plasma Charge has since become a staple of the modern battlefield due to its nearly unmatched destructive power. Contained within each ion enriched frangible outer shell is a nucleus of high energy plasma, contained within a micro-scale shield containment system. Upon losing contact with its power supply, this energy field quickly deteriorates, allowing the plasma to rapidly expand, consuming the outer shell and creating a super-energized cloud of gas reaching temperatures up to 50,000 K. Needless to say, this is sufficient temperature to melt through most personal armor, in addition to causing significant damage to vehicles.
Appearance: Resemble a truncated icosahedron with a small hexagonal energy pack attached to one side, which is removed prior to throwing. Upon detonation, the device forms a ball of plasma, surrounding whatever surface the device impacts. This ball would last for roughly 3 seconds, at which point it would fizzle out of existence.
Behavior: After priming, the plasma charge has a five second fuse, at which point the internal containment field dissipates and the device detonates. This can be brought about prematurely by a sufficient impact, such as the device being thrown against the ground, an installation, or an enemy.
Effects: Primary effect is creating an extremely short-lived plasma field, akin to a miniature star, bathing the target in immense amounts of heat. As a fun side effect the burning plasma is exceedingly bright, effectively blinding those who look at it. It also sticks to the target it impacts, thus focusing the energy onto a small area.
Fitting Info (Standard): Take up roughly 1.5 the CPU and PGU of a Militia Locus. Burn time of 3 seconds, fuse of 5. Damage on armor of 50 hp/second. Damage on shield of 5 hp/second (both damages are at this value when charge is in contact, with a rapid drop off). Exceedingly bright at close range, enough to glare a good portion of the screen. Noticeable point of light at longer ranges.
Opinions? I would love having something like this in game (Imagine it like a plasma Molotov cocktail). |

Opinions? I would love having something like this in game (Imagine it like a plasma Molotov cocktail). Burn time of 3 seconds, with 150 total damage to armor and 15 damage to shield? Please tell me that was a typo and you left off a number. Even so, this sounds vastly underwhelming. The values are all extremely tentative. These would be less effective to shields, but the 90% less may be overly so. |

ALPHA DECRIPTER wrote:I suspect this to be equipment, yes? Hit a tank with a good flux then plant a charge on it and watch it burn! Run up on a heavy, get behind him, and plant one on his back then run away as he puts on a light show for your approaching forces. Superb way to clear out an RE trap from an objective when out of flux nades. Place on Friendly LAVs for some hell-on-wheels action! Throw one on a ninja and watch the utter terror in the enemy's eyes as they either run away or fire wildly at the supersonic ball of death! Just some things I would expect players to do with this new toy.
`Sigh. Just another fun game of DUST . It would function as a grenade type, though as an equipment it might also be interesting. |

Plasma typically does more damage to shields than armour. Also, that's too large of a difference, making the weapon much much more effective against armour and comparatively ineffective against shields. Oh, well hmm.. |

Fitting Info (Tweaked 2): Take up roughly 1.5 the CPU and PGU of an equivalent tier Locus. Burn time of 5 seconds, fuse of 5. Damage on shield of 100 hp/second, damage on armor of 80 hp/second. (both damages are at this value when charge is in contact, with a rapid drop off). Exceedingly bright at close range, enough to glare a good portion of the screen. Noticeable point of light at longer ranges. Higher tiers could provide a larger burn area, longer burn, and/or more damage.
Variants: Regulated: 5 sec fuse, 10 second burn, 45 DPS on Shield and 35 DPS on Shield, wider area of effect. Doped: 3 sec fuse, 2.5 sec burn, 175 DPS on Shield and 150 DPS on Armor, smaller area of effect.
Opinions? I would love having something like this in game (Imagine it like a plasma Molotov cocktail). I love it! Please be a Gallente creation! Also is the DoT applied on the person or if the person stand within the field, I think anybody who get hit by it should get damaged with the DoT even if the are not inside it anymore. And if you get a direct hit the person will instantly die when it detonates and then apply the plasma field around their dead body. Thanks for the feedback!

Though what you described is basially hybrid starship ammo, used in space-based railguns and blasters. area denial? anti material? sounds like mass drivers, tanks, pretty much everything the ARs want nerfed. This weapon will not last long in AR 514, because it is not an AR but has the potential to (omg) kill AR users. Abandon all hope. What a pessimistic outlook. |

Dive into a hall and leave a long burning charge to allow you to escape. Oh my, this would be amazing for the close quarters fights in the Research Facility. Domination there, with the current Null Cannon location, hmm. |

Look at what they did to the hmg when it mowed down ar users. Well these, even if spammed, wouldn't be too bad of a problem, as they are easy to avoid (by walking out of the area-of-effect), unlike Locus spam. Might cause a bit of lag though. |
