From a Snipers point of view:::::
1. The only way a Sniper is putting up numbers like 20-3 or 30-0(or within these two ranges) are but two situations....His team controls ALL objectives, and the enemy is spawning at MCC/CRU, or if His team controls NO objectives and everyone from the other team is just rushing MCC/CRU....other than those two situation, KD/R like the ones above will NOT happen in a standard back and forth skirmish...no need to put much emphasis on numbers like those because the match itself is already lob sided...
2. Yes the map is open, and if there is a good sniper somewhere, yes he is going to pick you off, but there are things that you CAN do to lesson his chances a bit;;;;;
-- When calling for a LAV and waiting for it to drop, staying in one place (looking up at the ship as it drops the LAV) is just a no no, no matter where you are on that map...asking for an insta-pop...I see that ALL the time, few that actually move around
-- When in the midst of hacking anything(the game does allow you to sway back and forth rapidly while hacking), ""but what if I am behind the CRU, and the Snipers point of view is from the front? he cant see me right?""...I aim for body parts, and with a tactical sniper rifle of any tier, 3 quick shots to your toes and you will die...standing/crouching still while hacking is asking for trouble
-- Develop a 3 sec mental clock with everything you do to constantly move...You should never NOT be moving for more than 3 sec...be on toes that there is a Sniper looking right at you at ALL times...not because you are behind cover gives you the excuse to stop moving...
-- The 3 sec mental again, to never move on the same trajectory from point A to point B for more than 3 sec.... (ex...run...stop..strafe right...run) been many of times that i ran forward for a bit just to run backwards...the idea is to keep that Scope tracking and moving
-- Going up ladders for a frontliner is really dicie...unless you are absolutely sure, be cautious going up ladders, especially if your thinking of the tall ones that take a while to get up... |
