Seeing the same thing with the basic shotgun that we all used to see with the ARs. Rounds maxing out and disappearing into thin air after X meters.
I don't think the shotgun should be effective at anything above short range but you should be able to at least tickle a target at mid range. |

Did you read my post?
It's not about being able to operate at mid range with a shotgun, which is not what it is designed for in this game at all.
It's the unintuitive way that projectiles disappear completely after travelling a certain distance. Take for example the AR at long range, I can distract an enemy sniper or spook an enemy trying to flank by peppering them with completely ineffective fire at long range. Should be able to do something similar with the shotgun up to 20 meters or so. It's not that far really.

The way I see it, once a shot has traveled past it's effective range it's going to bounce off your shield without damaging it. No shield? It still won't dent your armor. |

My point is shotgun is a close ranged weapon and it deals minimum damage at medium range and long range it does not disappear it just do 0 damage or more or less |

it does decent damage to me...its fine where it is at the mlt shotgun with nothing put into it is powerful enough it kills easily..if u can get in close enough...
it wrecks heavies and everything else save for the guy that spots u when ur out of range... |

Come 1.4, that heavy you've flanked (who takes 2-4 shots to drop) will be able to turn around in an instant and return fire. So say a prayer to the Pellet Phantom before firing; an HMG can do alot of damage in the time it takes to land that second, third and fourth point-blank shotgun blast.

But heavy's should turn around faster then anyone. It's the only way you can kill with the hmg. Heavy's need the love and be able to outstrafe scouts. Scouts are super op and the next fotm |

Shotty, I must say I agree with almost every post you put out in it's entirety. It's scary kinda, but I am glad you do it. People don't seem to realize that it is very, very, hard to land two full contact shots in a row unless they are midst of hacking. And don't forget you only get a few shots before the reload. So, when it takes four shots point blank to bring down a heavy, that takes about 20 seconds of you hugging the heavy shooting the entire time and making sure each shot lands fully while trying to dance you way around an HMG that ends you in about 1.5 seconds. And if while you are erratically trying to survive you miss a shot, well you were prolly gonna die anyways.
SG/Scouts do NOT wreck heavies in the current build, and it's not gonna get better before it gets worse.
I can take a flanking route, drop off a building in a completely unpredictable way so that I land practically on someone, hit him once point blank with the shotty, then still die before I can fire my second shot. That's a ton of work to get every advantage I possibly can in my favor, just to still die in the end. Some of this is due to the Scout suit, but seriously if I can get through the waves of AR spam to get huggably close do I not deserve to get a kill before I eat it? If you keep range at what it is for SG, then you damn sure should be able to one-hit light and medium, and two hit a heavy as it's not that easy to get close when AR's can drop light-heavy in a matter of seconds and still have 3/4 of a clip left. |
