Thanks to Pokey Dravon for the initial work.
Quote:What are Certificates?
Certificates are a very useful tool in EVE Online which offer benchmarks of skills, allowing players to more easily plan what skills to train for their chosen profession. I personally feel that this is the best tool to help new plagers deal with the massive skill systern in EVE, and wanted to bring that same tool to Dust514. This is by no means an official certificate systern, but it is heavily based off the official system in EVE Online.
So my corporation has updated the certificates for this version of Dust, and would like to share it with you.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AnDfbYsdIRP7dG9fa2pvVnhDZGI4aUZEU0N0V3pDaUE#gid=0
So far only available as a Google doc.
I post this to get the eyes on the certificates again. It has been discussed and promised on occations, yet nothing happens. So I would like to propose it again.
This of it as a newbie tool. Got a corporation, want to tell them in clear terms how to skill up to get the most benefit out of something? Try using this.
This google doc also hasn't expanded fully on all the things, especially on the vehicle side.
This was developed for use within our clan, so I know there's no Die-Hard category in EVE... It's just that some certificates all at level 5 would be quite.... die-hard to go for.
I hope you find it useful, we have and I hope CCP considers this for future release. |

The Certificates in your post are not really what the OP was thinking.
They are more like "Achievements" or "Trophies".
Also the idea of "Unlocks Advanced...". Not sure what you meant by that.
Are they purely rewards, or do they limit your advancement to better gear?
As it stands. The skill tree is pretty simple.
You want Proto AR you train the AR branch. Look up the weapon you want to train in the Marketplace and it will tell you what skills you need to train.
Better Tutorials, and some explanation of how things work would sort all that. I have seen a couple of Videos where there was complaints that there was already "too much reading" involved in understanding the skill system. I'm not sure how you would overcome that (If you would even want to). |

IWS's incentive-loaded system isn't bad necessarily, though a simple way of planning/tracking would be useful either way. |
