One small corp has proto stomped, used overpowered weapons, cheap exploit tactics and spawned killed it to death. One corp of about 10 guys. How does that make you feel CPP? A market of a billion people, destroyed by a handful. Slow clap fellas.
After all this time, the server is dead as *****. All this is because CCP has completely failed to make a game for Playstation users. Instead they made a dudebros game for the Eve antisocial type who do anything to win "spying and sabotage is so meta crowd." And they pushed out the playstation FPS players. The keyboard is the first clue.
Why is PC messed up? That crowd. Why are game numbers down? That crowd. "Can I have your stuff?" Why didn't they fix AFK farming? That crowd. Why exploiters aren't banned? That crowd. Why no SP reset on game launch day? That crowd.
What do I think has gone wring? Very simple. They listened to that crowd.
The problems with PC are the same issues as pub stomping, flavour of the week weapons use and MCC AFK farming. A spoiled brat self entitled anti-social EVE player playerbase that CCP doesn't have the balls to smack down for fear of reprisals in EVE.
MCC AFK farmers should have been banned and or stripped of SP starting from day 1. Proper matchmaking via gear restriction tiers implemented so K/D farmers had to fight for it. On 5/14 and end of beta testing all SP should have been reset. Anyone caught using exploits banned.
Why didn't this happen?
Because there wouldn't have been any o'time Eve players left. Hilarious, because instead you would have had your market of dudebros playing their FPS... you know... that MASSIVE market you were trying to break into. Whoops |

there is your example, and it is going to ruin this game if there is never any consequence I didn't read, cuz i didn't care. 1 guy boosted = people exploiting / cheating?
Too many responses came in for me to reply to them all but since you disagree and ask a specific question.
First AFK farming is an exploit. SP = Skill, free skills for those who abuse a mechanic, it is cheating. Shooting through MCC walls and shields, dropping R/Es into the hidden pocket on objectives. Shooting through known hollow walls and hills. All this stuff was happening during BETA. They were supposed to be logged and reported, instead the BETA crowd took full advantage. Multiple accounts for passive SP is also an issue, but standard procedure in EVE as I hear.
You defend AFKing for free ISK and SP. This alone most people consider an exploit. It was reported as an exploit, but instead of being fixed.......... became standard procedure for people the game simply does not need to succeed. We'd be better off without them. |

CCP never said, nor the CPM, that AFK is an exploit. So your little explanation of why it is, is null and void. It's a game mechanic. You get SP for time spent in game. I thought EVE is all about HTFU and "adapt or die"... seems people are adapting pretty well to a mechanic in game lol you wanted people to get banned in Beta? Are you kidding me? That's what a beta is for! For testing and finding out these glitches.
I'm not sure how to respond to this, you missed the point entirely. I suspect your fear is CCP will sit up and take notice of just how accurate these complaints are.. and you're guilty as charged. I could be wrong. |

This is pretty much case in point. You hide your shame on a different server.
Thanks to people like you, the choice for someone actually playing are thus. (Naturally there are exceptions)
Skirmish or Domination. Get redlined and whupped because half your team is AFKing, or vice versa. Or. Equal AFKers on either side and a fair 8 vs 8 match, which the maps are too big for and gameplay suffers. All the while a quiet voice in the back of your mind and highlighted on the map.. CCP lets these douches do this.
Ambush / OMS A small group proto stomping with flavour of the week weapons on a quiet no contest server. And watching your team quit "___ has left the battle"
The real question that people can argue all they want but CCP has the real numbers for, is are these people quitting that match, or the game outright? Is it the same people pushing others out over and over with multiple accounts?
My whole point... (with an example of one corp and one server) is there are a number of problems created by a select few that CCP has failed to address. I've played endlessly for months, read the forums and have taken my guess at who the people are, and why CCP has leaned over and let their work and high hopes get reamed. My message was never to the players, but to CCP itself to HTFU. |

Mobius Wyvern wrote:Wow, yet another thread attacking EVE players for "ruining the game".
It's funny to realize how people on the outside think of us as this homogeneous mass that all thinks and wants the same things.
I mean, you do realize that some of the people that have been quite vocal about their displeasure with where the game has gone also play EVE, right? Playing EVE doesn't somehow make you incapable of understanding other games.
Don't be such a stickler on the generalization. The message that came from the EVE side has been clear.
HTFU. Adapt or Die. Can I have your stuff? Welcome to New Eden.
Everyone that has ever had a reasonable gripe with the game has been bombarded with these. A computer based spaceship game and a console FPS have different playerbases. Don't get hung up on the exceptions. CCP knows it. |

Seems I've hit a nerve. The best responses so far have been the intellectual hopefuls with all the name calling that clearly sink to my super low level. What, you don't like sweeping generalizations even though they smack a point right on target? There is a solid point in my ranting like it or not. Too close to home? Hahaha. I bet what annoys you most is the 17 likes so far from people who have been paying attention and have seen the trends progress into the current shitshow we see today. Carry on. |

Haha, **** poor damage control there sonny. Nice way to refute all the counter arguments and backtrack on your butthurt. Next you'll be telling us how your OP was a 'troll'
Clever, but you missed the mark. The damage control need to be done by CCP, I've suggested how to do that and I stand by my statements. Naturally I assumed I'd be riling up a large group of people. Not a group that I care to be on good terms with though at any rate,, win win.

A market of a billion people, destroyed by a handful. Slow clap fellas. I am in asia, and play the asian server everyday. The server isn't dead, it is alive and well. You should have seen how it was last august, when were about 10 guys that played on the entire server. One small corp killed it ? which one, there is more than one active organized corp on the asian server. There is cafe speed plains, nobilesse oblige, s.a.l.u.k.i, swarm of sushi, and few australian corps that prefer asian server because oceania server's player count is very low.
I play everyday as well, if servers were healthy they wouldn't have merged ambush and OMS. I stay away from skirmish and domination because of the AFKers. True, I say one small corp, 10 guys or so, but exactly how many alt toons do these guys have? Some corps I never see on at the same time, ever. I know other servers have issue too, but singled out the Asian server because it is the one I was stuck on for all of open BETA, the one I know best, the one where.... see OP |

Tallen Ellecon wrote:Don't lump all EVE players into one group.
I don't care if this game takes resources from EVE, EVE has grown stale for so many of us. Many people are just farming with multiple accounts or are on standby while playing another game. This games success has the potential of making EVE more appealing to more people, and making interacting in New Eden a much broader experience. I come from EVE, though for months I was playing this game a lot more. I still throw my cash at this game to buy pointless BPOs because I so badly want this game to succeed and I'll pay for it to happen.
Being someone who bought a PS3 just to play this game, I'm not ready to watch it fall, New Eden needs this more than it realizes.
I want this game to succeed more than most for my own reasons. I spent 320 million ISK and was ready so that I could pounce on 4 districts so that smaller corps could band together and actually play some rounds of PC. I made videos of exploits upon request to illustrate something that really needed fixing, made forum posts with map coords when I found game and map glitches, taught endless people how to setup their mics and about the overly complex skill point system, thought up game mode and given feedback and suggestions and etc etc etc. All the while I've watched and read posts by the devs and specific people high fiving each other over ideas that push away the intended crowd the game was conceived for... read that as not EVE players.
Let me put it another way.
Imagine it not as a video game, but a beer hockey league. People play for the fun of it, not for money or fame (because there is none) but because they like the game, a good challenge and social teamplay. 16 or 17 guys are on a team, and 3 of them decide that the ice isn't up to their standards, so instead of playing their position during the game they skate around in circles to practice their skating ability. When asked why they are ruining the game, the reply is that the ice isn't up to snuff and this is the only way to practice for next season when the ice is better. For some reason the referee is completely blind to the offsides so he rest of the guys bring their complaints to the coach who replies, but if we kick them off the team, we'll be shorthanded.
For **** sakes.
Should we get into the mentality of those who spy and sabotage and cheat a sports beer league? It is all about anti-social behaviour, and those who would allow something like to continue fall under the same category. Anti social for their inability to understand the complaints. Time and again this has been stated by EVE players and CCP itself that this is legit stuff in "New Eden" And this is what I've gone by when I put the onus on them.
This analogy can be used for stacked teams, better equipment etc. It should never be allowed or encouraged. The refs, the coaches, the GMs and those running the league all need a swift kick in the behind if they don't want the whole thing to collapse. There are people like this everywhere, it is their job to make the rules and enforce them so this doesn't happen, and kick the people out who ruin it for the rest of us.
The real players are quitting while some skate in circles. I have two last ditch efforts. One is this rude as hell OP forum post, the other a game mode suggestion that I'd play that would be very difficult for people to ruin.
