I kinda given up joining squads, i'll join if theres a space in someones corp squad as i expect them to be playing together, but the randoms ones never seem to stick together, has a big chance of being full of redline snipers, and most the time they dont use the orbitals we earn..... pointless

Matchmaking problems are from lack of people playing. If there is less than 4k players then it is going to be difficult.
A
It is hard to find a squad that runs in a group and works on squad orders.

B - sometimes I just feel like being anti-social and can't be *rsed to talk to anyone but most of the time I'll run in a squad. I've always got some people in corp to squad with, so it's easy to find reliable folk to play with. |

I used to play solo when my enjoyment of the game peaked. However as my desire to gain SP declined my reasons for playing became more oriented towards the act of working as group to succeed. And the company of friends/ other talented players. |

Try Dust University. They have the best squad structure that I have seen. If you want a bit better players try Kerosinii-Tero from SI. |

D - I mostly lone wolf it. As a Scout this fits my playstyle perfectly though. However, I do like to team up when possible so I can at least lend my WP for orbitals to my Squad Leader.
EDIT: Also, I don't have a mic so it makes communications harder. Once I get a mic I will probably squad up more often. |

- My connection is wonky. Some days it's pretty reliable but most of the time I'm prone to get disconnected.
- I don't feel like I contribute to the squad most of the time for 2 reasons:
- I can't reliably relay information in real time because I have to use ptt. I live by a railroad and it is extremely loud when trains pass, which they do often. This wouldn't be as much of a problem if I could map the ptt to a button that doesn't require me to move my thumb from the thumb stick.
- I'm not that good. On top of that I use a Scout suit so I die a lot. I actually went back to soloing after squading up a few times just to spend some time trying to improve so I wouldn't feel like such a dead weight when I did join a squad.
- Only a small percentage of the squads I've joined have actually worked as a unit. Most of the time the SL doesn't even give orders and everyone just runs off and does their own thing anyway.

Squad interaction is most enjoyable and teaches interaction with others, but lonewolfing is good for practicing some of my scout responsibilities. |

B-
when I first get on I like to run solo a match or two to get the work kinks knocked out. Unless it's early in the a.m. I seem to shoot better when I'm cranky. After that I jump in and out of squads to test how effectively I run with them |

A - because playing with squad is much advantageous than being solo, because you see what they see it helps you to determine where the re dots are. You die less, you win more. |

A - I used to squad less, but then I figured I was better off squading and occasionally got into a good one. Now I'm in a corp that runs squads.
I don't think asking players who are also involved on the forums will gleam an accurate image of squad statistics. Most the players that don't squad are fresh off the boat, or intermediate noobs that probably don't even know about the forums. It'd be really helpful I think if academy had an element of tutorial or experienced player coaching. |

D seems legit and i don't know anyone to join their squad sometimes i do but its kinda useless i go solo 90% of the time or just join allied players instead of squads and sometimes most people in the squad do whatever they like and don't follow the objectives given i find that irritating CCP should fix that or do something to fix it |

I choose option D. Every squad I have played with so far was near useless and didn't do what's best for the team. Much better off a lone wolf. |

No reason to gimp myself by not running with guys that can fill up spots so there are less useless blueberries. It's also makes the game more fun for me.

The late late crowd that I play with are a sketchy bunch. Drunk, stoned, and practicing fun new grown up words because mommy is out. Then, when I find a decent group they spend 20 minutes between matches trying to figure out what they're going to skill next in 2 weeks. Or, just arbitrarily BSing like they haven't seen a human in a month.
The ones I want to squad with always end up on the opposing team. With all of the Proto peckers. |
