My favorite weapon has to be the Assault Scrambler Rifle. I feel like a clone trooper from starwars everytime I shoot that thing. I'm bored of being a fatty. Now that the Caldari assault is getting a good bonus it'll be the perfect suit for my weapon. The assault variant doesn't overheat even after shooting entire clip, so the Amarr suit isn't that useful for this weapon. What do you guys think? Wish I had a respec....

Assault Scrambler Rifle is currently my go-to weapon (Advanced tier atm) for my Logi, because my accuracy seems to improve if I use it compared to an Assault rifle (Probably due to the sight which is good) and kills just as quick even without overheating. Logi and Assault suits are good choices for the ASCR so you should do well with it.

The assault rifle is still better, the bright muzzle flash on the SCR creates an illusion of recoil and makes it almost impossible to see your target when firing

I haven't seen the commado with Scrambler Rifle + Mass Driver yet. I bet that's a very powerful combo. But I'm afraid to skill into that because the suit looks so weak...

I think you might want to wait and see how the new cal suit performs before you make your mind up.

Very few use the commando suit really from what I've seen, but I prefer using a sidearm like the SMG if I decide to go Assault or go Amarr Logi.

I personally have found the Assault Scrambler really weak for some reason.

Maybe it's just that I feel like I have to reload/look for ammo more often than when using the standard SR...or maybe it's because I use it from too long of range...

Either way, I'm thinking that if you can dedicate one high slot to a complex damage mod and the rest for extenders it would be a pretty nice combo.

I currently run my scrambler on both a heavy and a minmatar logistics. The spread on the Assault variant is pretty bad when hip-firing, so if you can maintain a good distance from the opponent it should work wonders with a faster, shield based suit.

The semi-auto is much better but the ASCR is still a good choice. I will tell you that it really feels lacking when attacking armor until you get to Proficiency Level 2, at least from my experience. And that's the advanced version I'm talking about, I have the Carthum unlocked but I've never used it since I'd have to sacrifice too much to fit it.

I use to run the assault scrambler too,and ditched it.It's an assist machine, and nothing more. The match that convinced me was when I went something like 8-6 with 48 assists in a skirmish. That match told me all I needed to know, and I got my respec and left that POS at the curb.

I love the sight on it,and wish that the regular ARs had it.but I'll never go back the the scrambler rifles.Probably the best way to use them is to run Logi along side a Heavy,so you can eat up their shields while the Heavies just mow the armor away.

If you want to use heat weapons, you must go with Amarr suits. Those suits give you your role bonus.

If you want to tank and be a normal frontline pusher (because that's what you're good at), then stick with Caldari or Gallente, depending on the preferable tank method (Shield vs Armor).

If you want to dual tank, then you can pick among a variety of suits. Would avoid minmatar.

Etc etc. If you like a role, then you should be specc'ing into skills which benefit that role.

You get reduced feedback on the Amarr suit. Otherwise you can't shoot for long before it craps out and you are a sitting duck.

CCP purposefully did that so Amarr would use lasers. Same with their ships. Can only make lasers work well on Amarr.

The feedback damage reduction is for sentinels only if I'm not mistaken. But it's hard to visualize a fat suit without a heavy weapon.
