Assist magnets? Yeah right, I'm getting anywhere from 10 to 20 kills a round with the scrambler rifle (and scrambler pistol).
I'm not sure about the math and numbers, but I use the advanced scrambler rifle with proficiency 2 and 2 enhanced damage modifiers.
Nearly all enemies drop in one charge shot to the head. Some enemies drop in one change shot to the body. Most enemies survive one charge shot to the body than die in my follow up quick shot. Some enemies will require a couple follow up quick shots. Very very rarely does an enemy survive by the time I overheat, except I know when that is and avoid it and quick switch to the scrambler pistol and finish them off.
It results in pretty much every encounter ending in under a second, but it does take a good bit of aiming and heat management.

As I said earlier , I have had my shields depleted and left with about 1/3 of armor and then followed up by repeated quick shots finishing me before I usually have time to react. I have not really thought much about it, because currently I do not get killed by them often.. but times can change I'll have to test it, but currently I fire 3 quick shots every time out of habit after my charge shot and don't over heat (though I use the Amarr assault suit). I'm fairly certain a 4th shot would do it. |

Got me 3 times in a match that way, I almost got you back eventually but some blue came in and took the killshot :\ and no i'm not trying to say it was OP , I have tried the gun once and it was not for me. I am not very good with quick accurate taps I am humbled that someone actually remembered me from a match |

Just to further bring up a point, I know you said you aren't saying they are OP, but if it makes you feel any better these things are terrible up close. Pretty easy to manage when defending, but when I'm assaulting a base I have to be very careful to manage the distance of my engagements (and actually I more often simply switch to my pistol). Too close and the charge shot is no good since missing would make you SOL with no room to retreat and the hip fire is very inaccurate.
Very good at its sweet spot, very bad outside of it. Your best bet if you are trying to take someone done with is (or at least me anyways) is to charge and get up in my face. |

Ok so I tested it and I'm actually pretty shocked with my findings.
While wearing an Amarr Assault suit with level 3 in the skill 1 Charged shot + 8 quick shots = overheat
I never really paid attention to how much I could fire afterwards, but this will defintiely be changing my game up for the better. Need to get myself in the rhythm of 1 charge shot + 7 quick shots |

I still think its fine since it only fills a very niche role and outside of that it is terrible. Also I added an edit to my previous post. |

Need to get myself in the rhythm of 1 charge shot + 7 quick shots EDIT: Meanwhile, 18 normal quick shots result in overheating, so it appears 1 charged shot = 10 quick shots as far as heat build up goes. Yeah, that gun isn't for everyone. I haven't gotten good with it ... yet. But you pinged me pretty hard with yours the other day. Kept my head on a swivel the rest of that match My goodness, more people noticing me. Again, I am humbled
Want me to let you in on a secret? I had a 7 million SP character which I abandoned a few days after May 14th to start on a level playing field with the new guys (and because I wanted True Amarr in my blood!). I have not used a single booster or any aurum; I only have 3.8 million skill points right now. I do not understand the people who say this game is pay to win or you need 10+ million skill points to have fun.
A little nervous now that the scrambler rifle may be the next FotM, but I'm pretty confident that when people use it they will realize it has a very niche role on the battle field. Still, even if it does get a nerf with heat build up, as long as I can fire 3 shots after the charge I'll probably be alright (but seriously it does not need a nerf!!!). |

Honestly I'm surprised more people aren't using it, the thing is much more deadly than an assault rifle if you use it right and at the proper ranges. To be fair, it's because your fit seems to be the best suited for the SCR. I had no idea the Amarr Assault could squeeze out 18 shots without over heating. The Amarr Logi suit with the Imperial ScR I use can barely give me 7 quick shots or one charged and three quick shots. I still think the Assault ScR would be picked over the regular version as FotM though. If your suit can get that much performance out of the regular ScR, overheat must be non-existent on the Assault. Well also keep in mind the scrambler rifle is heat build up per second, not heat build up per shot (I have no clue why). I fire the standard scrambler rifle on a non-Amarr assault suit and can get 15 off before overheating, so maybe I'm just pulling the trigger faster? |
