For anyone that doesn't know what the DSR nerf is, here's an example. For all I care, they should nerf it harder and add an inital sway. Quick scoping shouldn't be a thing and I've even seen newberries trying to do it in Dust 514. I thought cancer wasn't contagious. |

Military Academy would help. Kids at developing ages need to understand this game along with others like it do have an impact on your brain. So parents take the game away and make them get a freakin summer job. They could also pay attention to the ESRB ratings and not buy an M game for an underage kid. Instead they do, find out they made a bad decision, and blame the company for making an M rated game to save face. Some people shouldn't be allowed to procreate... |

That quick scope stuff would get old real quick. I would compare it to the TAC AR nerf. Every try hard in the game used and abused the TAC AR to the point that other people were using it as an "I win button" because the hipfire spread. After the nerf, there were a select few that still use it and deadly accurate with it. Single shot weapons will always dominate any FPS because of the player skill that goes into it. But since the range buff on all weapons, especially the full auto AR, the TAC AR is back to where it started in Chrome. It's still fun to use and effective, but when a regular AR can fire back out you from across the map, why bother? |

Surt gods end wrote:Quick scoping is for fairies. And am glad that most FPS games keep away from that crap. Its OHK, but not reduced in range as a shotty is. which makes it a fairy prairie. Unfortunately, it kind of screws snipers in general because not a lot of maps actually favor classic sniping. Quick scoping was the only way for any sniper to properly defend themselves. It's not really impossible to snipe in CoD, it's just an unnecessary pain because the game doesn't cater to it. It's like having a dropsuit bonus for something still on the drawing board. |

That's just using it like a standard AR and it's stupid becase "quick scoping" is so artificial that it makes it feel like an arcade game. Yech! That's the point. Maps are so bad for sniping in CoD, that everyone had to abuse a broken game mechanic that carried over from Quake, abuse it, and get really good at it to be competitive. |

You would compare it to the TAC.. Your a Fool. Its a OHK gun with Auto Aim when ADS. You posted the video. Do you think it takes any kinda of skill to point near the enemy, ADS and have auto aim track right to the head? But you compare the TAC to that Vid. your a moron.
I'm comparing it on the basis of a game mechanic being abused. The quick ADS transition in CoD is actually a carry over from Quake Arena, what CoD was built from. Over the years, maps got smaller and snipers had to find ways to adapt by quick scoping on enclosed maps. The flawed game mechanic got abused, just like the flaw with the TAC AR's tight hip fire spread and high ROF got abused until both were ultimately nerfed. I'm not saying that the both are the same in terms of damage at all, just designed purpose vs intended use going askew. |

It's not something that requires any skill. Sniper rifles have 0 sway at all and you can hit someone on just about any part of their body because the DSR does so much damage. CoD is nothing more than an arcade shooter fluffed up with a shade of realistic military tech. Keep in mind that when I say realistic, I mean from an aesthetic sense and not practical. Even though we have plasma weapons with futuristic power suits, Dust is way more realistic than CoD will ever be. Try quick scoping with a real DSR, you'll probably dislocate your shoulder and rupture your cornea. |

Try quick scoping with a real DSR, you'll probably dislocate your shoulder and rupture your cornea. Even used correctly, high powered cartridges tend to cause massive pain after only a few shots - to the point of literally being physically harmful. One of the Lapua cartridges used for sniping has a limit (5?) that it is advised not to exceed, in a day, or to risk reticule detachinment in they eyes. Also physical trauma to shoulders etc etc etc, particularly when fired from a resting position. Most FPS are ridiculous in the extreme when it comes to realism. (some of the high powered hand gun cartridges cause fractures in the wrist after considerable use - i'm thinking heavier Dan Wesson calibers and some of the more exotic rifle calibered handguns). I think the only game that comes remotely close to doing real life sniping justice is Day Z. Maybe we'll get a bit more variety in the different types of sniping with the gauss rifle. From speculation, it looks like it might be ideal for scout sniping. |
