The Missile, Rail Gun, Blaster turrents can actually go through the tank's sprite/structure giving them a clear advantage to bend their turrent closer to the tank's ground. I am sure most tankers know this advantage of armor tanks in contrast with shield tanks.
Fixing this will avoid the armor tankers to have obfuscated positions in the mountains, be able to hit infantry that gets to close to the tank without moving to get an angle. |

You found our secret, now I'm afraid we can't let you live... jk. Yeah, its an unfair advantage that needs to be fixed.
Although I like being able to do it with my Madrugar it really feels op when I don't need to get my tank exposed just to gets a clear shot. Since CCP was talking about vehicle changes for future builds to make them balanced between each other and against AV.

Even my soma can drive over shield tanks and 1hit them after - lol
With the possible fix of the armor repair modules duration and maybe the shield booster modules too. Every kind of advantage will be important as it is harder to drive a shield tank than an armor tank... a fix will allow armor tankers to taste the sour sensation of you turrent not being able to be in impossible positions.
FYI... I drive armor and shield tanks.

What makes you think that? For that matter what is wrong with anyone using terrain for cover?
Nothing is wrong with getting cover but the turrent movement behavior is buggie since on armor tanks you can actually make it go through (inside) your tank and it shouldn't be that way.
If you don't know what is the difference just test the different turrents on militia tanks and you will see what it is all about. For fuether explanation lets picture my rail armor tank up in the mountains and the only thing your are able to see is my turrent because I have the tank's body duck in cover in an abnormal terrain because the turrent allows me to do so. Per se in a situation where the bug is fixed in order for the armor tank to aim to the same target it might require such tank to expose the body to be able to land such clean shot.
Simplified... we have a table and a ruler, the ruler can rotate horizontally 360 degrees and vertically around (+:positive) ~75 degrees. The bug is that armor tanks can actually rotate (-:negative) 45 degrees which will mean for the ruler to land some impossible position that it will go through the table when he design of the table shouldnt allow this...that si armor tanks and turrents.
Shield tanks and turrents are working as intentended. |
