I don't use it as a mainstay, but it sure is satisfying to be succesful with. It excells as a shotgun equivalent for taking down heavies, particularly those with logi escorts. Also makes for an effective croud control tool, even though the splash feels weak for the weapon's lore. I have never been able to get this weapon to rival packed AV 'nades against vehicles, but the description is correct about sticking to urban areas and tight cover. Out in the open your projectile will mopst likely be spotted quickly, dodged, and fire will be returned long before that reload is finished.
Would heartily agree that the Std version is the only cost effective version in terms of both SP and ISk.
I have also had many collision detection issues with this weapon's projectile, ie disappearing into walls/floors/dropsuits without exploding. Doesn't seem to have recieved the same kind of love MD's have in that sense.
Then again, as is, it's definitely hard mode...

I would push for this approach. Raise your core stats with meaningful passive % increases (Like nearly everyone should if they haven't already), and focus on building a fit that can handle that hefty CPU requirement , and basically work around the Std PC. Maybe it will receive some projectile physics tweaks down the road and become more viable, but this way in case it's always a red headed step child you haven't sunk too much SP into a lark.
TBQH, the weapon is way too fun for me to ever regret skilling into the PC, regardless of whether it ever sees a buff. |

Yep, they sure do. Occasionally, and in my experience always on the first round of the magazine, the PC will spool up, appear to fire, and not create a plasma projectile at all. This "dud" shot doesn't seem to consume ammo, and doesn't require a reload after firing. |
