The main issue I have with the Plasma Cannon right now is that it doesn't seem like it has a large enough area of effect. Not only this, but the advanced and proto versions have the same size blast radius. There isn't even an assault variant with a larger radius either!
Also, the damage it does isn't anywhere close to what it needs to be, especially if it only has one shot before a reload. Splash damage with this weapon needs to be at least 400.
Let's just face it, this weapon is designed to be more along the lines of both an AV weapon and an anti-infantry weapon...so give us the ability to wipe out groups of enemies with this thing! Any other "launcher" does this.
So that's my feedback on it, here are my requests:
-Change blast radius from 3.5m to 5 for standard, 5.5 for adv, 6 for proto. -Splash damage should be increased by 30% on all variants --a) standard from 285 to 370 --b) adv from 299.2 to 400 --c) proto from 313.5 to 430 __________________________
As a final thought, who on the CCP team thought it was a great idea to make all charge up weapons have their operation skill decrease the charge time? A weapon with a charge time of less than a second doesn't need its charge time reduced
The Forge Gun makes sense The Scrambler Rifle actually builds up heat quicker with a faster charge time (making it harder to use) The Nova Knives benefit from this skill as half a second can make a huge difference when you're up in someone's face. You can also preform multiple charges quickly.
But the Plasma Cannon....seriously??? It has a charge time of 0.6 seconds...and then you have to reload the thing. Reducing the charge time on this weapon doesn't even make a difference. Any other upgrade would help this weapon out so much more, you know, like 5% to blast radius per level or SOMETHING. |

I Agree with this. One of my favorite things about the plasma cannon is its awesome mushroom cloud animation. I wanted to be able to launch it and nuke clustered enemies. I feel it should be an anti-infantry weapon, because it really can't handle AV. Its arcing pattern, low ammo, and single clip makes this gun a good fit for anti-infantry; if only it had a splash zone. |

Of course it doesn't feel like a cannon. It's not an AR.
All weapons must be tuned to never challenge the AR hegemony.

Just played around with it a bit more.
Using a Plasma Cannon, Flaylock, and fused grenades for maximum effectiveness.
I think maybe the projectile speed is just too slow compared to other games I've played, so it takes more skill to use. |

honestly i dont think of this weapon as a AV weapon its more of an AP weapon with AV capabilities, its essentially a LV grenade launcher but with your proposed changes it would literally become a locus grenade launcher i think that would be alittle OP
i would instead suggest a radius increase to 4m then +.5m per tier increasing splash damage of basic to 300 and +25 per tier i dont think this weapon should be capable of OHKOing any medium suit with splash damage i think being able to cripple them then finish with a side arm would be fair enough
as for the bonus on the skill 100% agree charge time reduction is useless to it i think 5% increase to blast radius per level would be better OR 4% reload speed per level(it has a 2.5s reload speed right? 20% at lv5 would reduce that to 2s)
when i see this weapon it actually reminds me of the grenade launcher on BF3.... OHKO on direct hits 50-90% damage on splash depending on how close it hits and a bit of damage to armored vehicles on direct hit (something like 6 direct hits to take out a tank) |
