Hello CCP
I whant to bring a very important issue to your attention and I know there is a lot of real good players that probably feel the same way about this as I do this is why I have taken the time to make this thread. Please read carefully and consider this to be a must in the coming patch or up coming game fixed that dust will receive in the near future.
There are tons of us who spec into vehichles and modules which in the end makes the vehicle very power full but very costly in ISK.
Many of us whant to use the full advantages of these vehicles but we cant why? because there is always sum NOOB or just sum random @SS hole who decides to hop in your vehicle only to screw you over.
Why is it they do this ? maybe just to get ***** and giggles.. or maybe just to be total trolls because its fun to run of with sum one vehicle that took hard work and very expensive ISK to buy
for example I have a LAV that around 170 k to re stock. Every time I park my car to use it s cover or maybe get out to revive a team mate, drop a nanohive, what ever the case maybe, sum random person decide to jump in my car and take off with it.
Costing me a death which is around 70k for my suit and then to have my vehicle blown up by the enemy costing me another 170k so in all I just lost 250 thousand ISK.
now CCP ask your self is this really fair? I mean lets be honest we are in a futuristic game where we jump out of space ships and we run around in Super human clones. You mean to tell me we cannot add a Alarm key to our vehicle so we can lock it if we decide to do so.
I know this issue gets on a lot of peoples nerves and I hope they can lend support by replying to this thread .
I believe it would be fair to activate sum kind of feature, maybe in the equipment area, that when you are riding your vehicle you can lock it, there for after its lock and any player gets out they cant get in, same as any team mate wont be able to come to the vehicle and hi jack it from you. Also while the car is locked it would be fair to still make the enemy team be able to hack it that way it would still be a proper balance in the game.
The issue here is random team mates who really are not team players at all to be prevented from hi jacking your ride.
If you feel the same way as I do please share your thoughts. And please constructive criticism only if you just want to come here and rant or be disrespecfull don't bother im looking for mature people to comment on this current on going problem on dust.
CCP you can fix this, And I have plenty of ideas,, please contact me if you require further INPUT.
Have a good day people |

Knightshade Belladonna wrote:nvm, I actually took the time to read the whole thing. however... I like how you said once you lose your LAV it costs a suit adding : if the lock feature were to be implemented.. it ONLY can work when owner/driver exits vehicle... because to be honest, deep down in this thread I feel the OP really wants to be able to always have a guaranteed chance at recalling his vehicle and some blueberry wouldn't hop out while he yelled at him to.. just sayin
yea the reason I said it cost a suit is because when people drive of with your vehicle it totally ruins what you are tryng to do there for getting you killed...

not everything is gone ,, when you have good team mates you can go games without losing suits or vehicles,,,
its all about having good team mates... but like you say random blue dots will ruin it for you.
and that's why we need this fixed... and it can be done,, Its very simple,
We know what goes on in Dust, we here to provide Ideas on how to make the game better not just rant on how bad it currently is.

As much as it does **** me off when a teammate just takes my vehicle and runs off with it, I feel CCP has nothing to do with that. Again, it gets on my last nerve and it only happened to me twice but that isn't on CCP
Having CCP police the small aspects of Dust can cause an irrevocable change in the game.
In this case, you should now be aware of what goes on and should make the proper adjustments going forward. Everytime somethings goes wrong in Dust or doesn't go your way, that doesn't mean CCP needs to be brought in to rectify the situation.

your totally wrong dude.
This is not me only whoi is botherd by this Im speakin on behalf of the entire community and players who have asked me to develop this thread, And no 1 here is asking CCP to police anything.
If you read the thread all we are asking for is for sumthing to be put in place where it gives the player the option to lock his vehicle to prevent teammates from driving of randomly with it.
nobody has to police anything. I belive you totally whent off course and subject here.
people rant and rave on ehre about how things are over power and end up being nerfed by ccp. Im a victim of this every time a new patch develops.
Im not asking for the nerfing of anything or police, just to add a feature that will prevent this kind of behaviour
any way thanks for your input |

I wasn't that mean, I actually returned a couple of them later in matches that were not super awesome.. think I only lost one the entire time because there was a serious lack of competition. Everyone and their uncle seemed to have migrated to oceana or something thinking it would have less players and make it easy to finish objectives, so I went to ambush OMS on asian to do all my goals. Think the biggest match I had was a 6 v 6 |

not saying don't trust blues. one of my favorite pass times is jumping into a pub match and playing squad roulette (if there are 3+ members they have mics). just don't lose you cool when your trust falls through.
for what it's worth, this thread is my opinion on what should be done.
my main argument agains locks is that if I die the keys go with me. this means a benevolent blue can't use his teammates asset but a red dot can (with a little hacking of corse).

No I didn't go off course. Policing involves that, preventing wrong doing. I understand completely what you are asking for but I don't believe you understand me because I'm looking at the grand scope instead of the narrow vision.
This falls on the responsibility of the player. Next time, call in a LAV in a location free of other players or just around Corp mates. Recall your vehicle once you hop out of it or when you're done
So I wasn't commenting on your situation as if you were ranting. I know you're not talking about OP and nerfing. I'm intelligent enough to distinguish that. What I'm saying is that it falls on the player.
What if you die and your corp mates need your vehicle to make a quick escape from the location? What the new feature glitching and preventing anyone from using it?
I rather the responsibility stays on the player instead of CCP using some time to create a lock feature on a LAV when there are far more important things that could use the attention and fix.

It's an act of supervision when they place locks on the vehicles!!!! Police is preventing wrong doing. Just as much as "policing an area" can mean cleaning up a station. You are asking CCP to police a problem. Is it that hard to understand or when I say police you think badges and jail?

The way i see it not all buttons are used on the controller for vehicles. So it should not be difficult, to implement a lock/unlock feature, other then coding, etc. If you then leave it unlocked anybody can take it, if its locked none of your teammates/fellow players can take is. As for the enemy, If its unlocked all they have to do is hack it, but if it is locked they first need to hack it and then unlock it. The last feature would be nice, since not only would it give you enough time to try and take your vehicle back, but they could also make it based on skill meaning, without skills 90 % of not beeing able to unlock it, to level 5 of that skill giving 70% chance of beeing able to unlock it. Alott of skills in EVE work this way aswell, so why not in DUST. Plus they could ad another feature to scanners, giving them something like the ability to see if a vehicle is locked or not and modules to help assist in unlocking it.
The same unlock/lock feature they could also then implement on buildings/pve etc. meaning that you would then have to try and unlock surtain doors, to be able to reach the next objective. In eve its the equivalent of complexes and archaeology sites. |
