Imagine 5 rushing your team of 5 assaults. And remember, the 5 heavies are shooting at you at the same time.
It will be a slaughter, the medium frame drop way quickly, so they can concentrate on one, drop him, move to the next, drop him, move to the next, etc'.
By the time they bring down one heavy, the medium frames are already toast.
It's like the difference between having to take down 1 tank and 5 tanks. Even if you had unlimited AV, if they are together it will be a pain in the arse.
AR's still have the range advantage, and if equal numbers of heavies and assault meet, the assaults only need to go for a job in different directions to break the effectiveness of the horde.
Either that or just lob in a pair of fluxes and four core locus grenades and kill them all without even needing to fire an AR. |

Oh and core locus grenades? Yeah, they one shot my Gallente assault.
A heavy trying to strafe vs an assault is going to chewed up. Slower, worse turn radius, can't jump as high while reloading, lower movement speed.
Flux and Nade will drop a batch of heavies, so your tactic is invalid.
I think we have settled this. Unless you want to change the title to "If I am running solo in a pub a squad of heavies could scare me"
Either that or spec into a mass driver. Flux and Mass = many dead heavies. |

Cat Merc wrote:You overestimate the speed difference. Now that strafe speeds have been increased, a strafing heavy can still be a pain if the guy behind it is good That combo drops any suit, heck you don't even need a Flux. Your argument is invalid.
Flux and nade can be less than ideal when trying to target fast moving suits, Cal logis with Kin cats, or any socut suit.
Flux and mass can have the same problem. Well maybe an assault mass driver and allotek flux can catch a scout.
Against heavies though, either of those solutions is an almost assured kill. So if your cluster of heavies can be solo'd by a logi with a mass driver, it isn't really effective.
