Draw distance, ADS sensitivity, and the iron sight are what ruin the laser. |

It is workable but is even more just a situational wepon than it ever was. It shines in domination game mode where you can play perimiter *phonics" defense away from the objective. I have 0 sp sunk into it... so i can only give opinion on the rawest level. The iron sight is easy to get used to, but it's badly designed and puts people off.The other two, make an already hard to use weapon hard to use due to bad programming. Remember when the MD was bugged? Same thing. |

Remember when the MD was bugged? Same thing. It is bad mechanics indeed.. whe you sprint..than ads, its like a whole new "slow motion" mode. When I first used it i was told a yr ago that the lr was ccp's pride and joy..and there was only a handfull of lr users.. than it turned ungodly op and they was everwhere..now its in the shape its in now. It seems like if a wepon was not used much..hidden buffs was given...like the tac ar, and we are able to use them that way longer than we should due to the wepon being op and broken visibly across the board, than the wepon is broken "nerfed". Im play and do my videos till i get bored and move on...i have put many days into this game...and promoted it like crazy, i do know that. The Viziam was bugged at the time making it OP. I think if the heat build up was properly coded, the laser would have never been so abused. The other variants were fine for what they did in Chromosome- sharpshooter was proven to be the real culprit. But the way they tried to balance the laser by making it harder to use when it's already a niche weapon ruined it. I don't think the initial lens flare it had in Uprising was intended. Pretty sure nobody tested the thing at the time. |

If something is OP, but nobody knows about it, is it truly OP? |

If something is OP, but nobody knows about it, is it truly OP? yes but no nerf hammers will come down till it hit the mass of players as OP and draws its bandwagon. the only real problem with the LR i have it sharp dropoff at 85m to 90m. its just insane. its good to melt people faces who are using ledges with en-battlements to rain down with on people only exposing a tiny slivers of themselves. So you're basically saying that if the Viziam was properly coded at the start, the laser would have needed a buff in Chrome? |

lowratehitman wrote:You missed the point...its like it was made op overnight just so more people would use it. I got what you're saying, but I've seen this kind of thing in a lot of games. Game mechanics that are underrated tend to go unnoticed. Not many people had SP invested in SS, tried the laser and thought "Yeah, f-this." Then someone that had more SP in SS tired it and realized "Hmm, there might be something to this." They put some more SP into the laser, start using the Viziam, people see it start doing the same- now you got a FotM. Same thing happened in FFXI with Asuran Fists and Ranger/Ninja except it took years for those to be discovered. Imagine how many other broken game mechanics are still lingering around.
ladwar wrote:in chrome naw if it was coded right. it wasn't and i stand by that. the current is weaker than it should be but not by much and is very close to where it should be besides the 85m+ ranges which i believe is wrong. its effective range should span out to 100m, but otherwise it shines at what it does best. i do suggest more players try it out and use it correctly, it works great. Eh, I forgot about the range nerf and how the laser operates off of range. But I agree that the laser should at least be increased to 100m or at least an Amarr dropsuit that increases ranges for laser based weapons. (Might be a good role for the Amarr scout..) |
