1. Planetside 2 isn't better than this game in my opinion. PS2 pretty much requires that you get everything at the cash shop. If you don't, you get stomped and it takes forever to grind up to better weapons. In DUST, the cash shop really doesn't provide you a big opportunity without a big risk (lose real money if that equipment you splurged on gets killed when your clone dies). PS2 is pay to win. I've played both games, BTW.
2. Is EVE that short of resources that it will die? EVE has no competition, as far as I know. It's too harsh for most people.
3. Scams? We are big boys. We know that scams, betrayal and rip-offs are the stuff of legend in EVE. We will learn and take our lumps.

From an Eve player that has played for 5 years, I say you don't speak for all of us, and if you were really interested in Eve you would probably hope CCP succeeds in this endeavor. Also, the fact that you think this takes away from Eve (the people making this game were never developers on Eve), says you don't know much about how CCP operates and leads me to believe you aren't as "dedicated" as you pretend to be.

your arguments are wrong considering dust is entirely funded by profits from eve, sponsors and in game purchases. there has been no resources diverted anywhere. dust has its own devs entirely separate from eve and also its very own development funds
eve is making huge profits for ccp which is why they were able to simultaneously fund the development of 2 new games. if they both flopped or never came out of development then eve has lost nothing and ccp has only lost some profits.

Planetside 2 is a joke, their **** attempts at making a persistant world is failed and everyone will forget about it within two years time. Destiny will be okay but it will lose it's players after everyone finds a new game. Dust on the other hand has constant updates that keeps the game refreshing, as opposed to getting just bug fixes before the publishers decide to plan a sequel. |
