Options we have now - No more corp battles.
A corp needs a way to stage a match with particular players on opposite sides in the same battle. Just to train members in using gear and muscle memory.
FW battles are best suited for this now. Simply arrange who attacks and who deffends before searching for battle. Then wait for FW battle to show up in mercenary tab of battle finder. If you are lucky and fast, quickly join your side in the battle and meet at the ground. But FW battles are rare and interfering with FW is offending to RPG oriented players.
Another way, would be entering into PC battles. But you have to wait for them at least 24h. And it is rather costly. So you have to solo/squad grind some ISK beforehand to collect 30 mil ISK to afford clone pack necessary for atacking a district. 16 member corp should be able to do this in one day, with each member playing ~12 pubs, or two days by playing 6 pubs/day and donating ISK to corp's coffer. More numerous corps will collect ISK for clone pack faster but there is an inconvenience of choosing which members will participate in PC battle. Some quarrels and qq may ensue. Members may rage quit your corp. ...And AWOX you later.
Corp battles 2.0
If there was a way to stage a merc/corp duels in pub matches there would not be need to interfere with FW. A way to tell the matchmaker to throw particular players into same pub match on opposite sides. Based on squad membership?
Or a way to host a "guest battle" in a district. And earn ISK this way instead of selling clones. Surplus clones could be used for guest battles. 100 clones per battle. Split evenly 50/50 between fighting teams. Hosting such battles could block the ability to attack the district for the duration of a match. After "guest battle " ends district could be attacked again. Interested corporation or corporations instead of attacking would ask to VISIT a district. And then would wait for the owner to accept the request(s), match teams and assign clones for the match. Max 100. And time. Clone number assigned would determine how many ISK to charge guests with. Sale of 100 clones gives 15 mil ISK. But since all the biomass remains at the host's district host looses not a single ISK as one biomassed clone costs same as new clone. http://dust514.com/news/blog/2013/07/balancing-the-conquest-of-planets/ Guest battle could cost way less than a new clone pack and yet those matches would generate more ISK than clone sale. And would give short immunity to attacks. I am aware of the district locking "exploit". But locked district would not be able to host guest battles.
Clone numbers and time schedule could be arranged via in-game mail or chat channel. If match is for one corp, members choose themselves which side of the match to join from corp battle tab of the battle finder (ATTACKERS/DEFENDERS). If two corps match, all members join their corp's side.
There is an initiative by Kain Spero to setup An Arena For All: Establishing the Neutral Zone https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1016754#post1016754

Training ground is OK. But the problem with it are clones. You have to secure clones for training on the ground. Things happen... Then what? It would be "unnatural" if you get killed during training and loose no clone or gear. Just stand up like nothing happened?
If you own a district you could use some of the clones from the district and your district's surface as the training ground. If not, maybe some public match with setup corp duel via matchmaker (if there was duel mechanism built-in the matchmaker) or pay a visit to somebody owning the district and willing to rent you some of their clones and battleground.
If it is gonna be VR training ground, it should be of lower quality graphics No shadows, textures, less realistic lighting maybe? You now something to make it distinctive enough (and ugly ) to tell them from "real" battles? "Normal" maps could be used for VR with quality turned down. But i don't know if it is technically possible. A game within the game? Why not (Inception anyone?)
Or buy leisure, 10 clones, pack from Genolution and visit any planet you wish and have some good resting time with your friends Or alone... With nature... |

pegasis prime wrote:Heres an idea why not give every corp with say 16+ members an high sec district even just an in house cirp training district that can house 32 players. Thusly enabeling training as well as organised corp battles . Just a thought. Cost of clones for pub matches is covered by NPC corporations which pay us ISK for fighting there. And clones are provided "invisibly" to us. Same is for Faction Warfare matches. Clones are bought and provided to us by warring Factions.
For PC battles we have to take care of getting clones ourselves. Same should be for training. Or just for roaming the surface of the planet. You have to get the battle clones for training. They cost 30 mils per 100 clones pack. And if you unpack them and not use all of the clones you can't put them back into the fridge. Theoretically you could biomass them all and sell back to Genolution. Even dead ones. But fresh clone from Genolution cost twice the money as dead or biomassed one: 300k ISK150k ISK... So training will cost a lot of money... No clones no training imho... At least not VR type of traing but the "real" thing... |
