Every now and then when I'm in a tank, I think, "I wish I could get that guy behind cover." Well, a mass driver turret mounted on top of the tank would be great for that. Then, make it so it can't aim down very far, which keeps it from shooting near the tank, and it's got a solid weakness. |

I would imagine that Minmatar Artillery Turrets would fill this role quite well when we get them. |

Uhm we already have missile turrets. Which still suck at their intended roles. |

Small turrets have been crap for a long time now. Hand held weapons are much better than those that require a vehicle mount. |

Blaster turrets are all around balanced and missile turrets require prototype. Rails under perform though. I can probably count on one hand how many times I've died to one- including beta. |

Yeah, railguns have never been attractive. The only use I've seen for them that's effective is scaring off dropships, because the small rails offer the same knockback as a large rail. They aren't effective at killing them, just area denial. |

I think all the small turrets need a splash damage adjustment, they're just awkward to use compared to the larger ones. If they were more effective, we'd have more people spec into LAVs to do more than play GTA: New Eden. |

I think small turret aim should be fixed while moving. It should fire where you're aiming at. Missiles suffer the most because it is just too obvious that you can't even fire straight. I've had many first time gunners in my HAV and when my small turrets are missiles (mostly for fitting purposes), I hear them complain about the fact they can't shoot straight so they take it on themselves. I have to explain them the awkward mechanics that throw off their shots even during the slightest of movement from the vehicle (even a small adjustment on the large turret throws off the shot on the top small turret).
But they still get discouraged and sometimes hop out as they are more effective with an AR, but for me this hurts because I'm left without any gunners to support me in tight situations. |
