Are any of you having as much trouble as I am tracking disco dancers in close to medium range? I literally cannot ADS with any weapon and am forced to spray and pray just to try and hope I get a hit on these guys....I should throw together a video to thriller or something, it's insane how fast the side to side is on these guys >_< Is it just the MKB guys who can almost sprint from side to side?
I know I'm gonna get trolled because hoverboards are apparently the sign of skilled FPS....but....::smh::
Just curious if I'm the only one who can't stand the square dance routine, I guess, particularly amongst heavies. |

I'm not a heavy, but extreme strafing isn't just a problem on your end.
As for ADS, unless you're using an AR/SR/LR (or some rare situations with an SMG), I don't see the point. With CQC weapons especially. I once tried AingDS against a heavy at just three meters away from me with a shotgun, and he was able to strafe out of the way! |

Glad to see I'm not the only one. (lmao stayin alive >_<)
To the one who asked how much SP
I've got Basic Heavies maxed out, ARs with proficiency 3, Forge guns with proficiency 1, and HMG operation to 3 though that'll be going up to proficiency 1 or 3 later on this week.
I have a total of 12 million SP, about 2 million of which is just kind of plopped around as I dabble in different things. |

Wanna know a secret that will freak out even the best dancers?
Don't use your ads. Do not touch your left joystick. Hold your right joystick to either the left or right and keep it there. Hold down R1.
Trust me. As a Heavy player myself, I will guarantee that you'll make any opponent drop his or her controller, giving you the chance to serve them fully. |

Mainly because they go extreme distances with their strafe, very very quickly. They don't just hop left and right in my killzone. I can't counter strafe them, and the artificial turn cap makes it quite literally impossible to ADS against them.
I just can't see how people find this to be an improvement

I am maxed lvl 5 on everything except reload and PG out put. Those I feel are a waste. Yes the HMG is nearly impossible to use to kill someone. I waste all my effort to take down one person as i get shotgunned or shot in the back. Over and over this dance goes on. I am only a breath away from throwing in this 10 million+ SP build and going free suit. I cant take it anymore. I have been a heavy for a long long time and I have tried and tried to make it work. Its not lack of skill, its poor design is all it is. When I am less than 2 feet away and I cant kill the bunny hopping, poka dancing fool only to see them kill me with a militia AR or flaylock. After this I have to turn the game off or I will be out of a PlayStation as I get ready to throw out the window. I feel like I have one arm behind my back as I kicked in the nads over and over again. |

I now am maining my Minmi Assault alt because it is so much easier to play and a lot less frustrating to work with. Half a year dedicated to Heavies?; I could not care less now. |

Guys please don't spam this thread :/
I'd rather it die out then have it bumped with random stuff. If you don't have any input or relevant stuff to add, please take it to the locker room guys
@ Calvin B
I actually have been finding the HMG to be exceptional in CQC environments for the most part. Unlike my AR, hip firing it is just fine, and it seems pretty easy to get head shots with...surprisingly....
I've just been using the Advanced one, I'll let you know how the Boundless treats me when I get it. |

I've just been using the Advanced one, I'll let you know how the Boundless treats me when I get it. To be honest, I don't see much benefit to running the Boundless over the MH-82. It tends to be a waste of money if you die. If I do decide to run proto, I usually go for the Freedom. At least with that, I can fight from farther away as I lay out some suppressive fire: not necessarily in it for kills.
However, what I do find fun to use in small enclosed Ambush maps is the Six-Kin. One spray locked onto an opponent against a wall is usually enough to take him or her out. |

To answer your question I am noticing I am spending around 50 more bullets to take down the people who are good at strafing, but it is also harder for them to take me down since I can strafe better now as well so it almost even out. The one thing that just destroys me are the fast strafing flaylock users. |

The one thing that just destroys me are the fast strafing flaylock users. Thankfully the Flaylock is being brought back in line in 1.3, though I personally don't seem to be strafing anywhere near fast enough to throw off enemy aim, and I use no armor plates. I have however watched a speed tanked HMG sentinel dance his big ass heart out....it was both highly amusing and incredibly depressing at the exact same time :(
@ LT SHANKS
The boundless costs the same as my Duvolle, so I don't see much of an issue there. I usually only run advanced, but I have my prototype fits for when I just have to get the job done. I know I've been torn to pieces by the boundless a number of times, so I'm definitely tempted to test it out (I only have 1 point in my PG skill though, that skill is so god damn expensive >_<)
I've never cared for the Assault versions, especially since I have my AR skill so high, and the Burst just doesn't really fit with my style, and I can never seem to get it to work well enough. |

Every pro heavy is currently experiencing these issues. Your best bet until things get fixed is to
1. Be aware of it and force yourself to fight in only the most optimal of positions and BE in the most optimal of positions at all times!
2. try engagements at longer ranges with the assault HMG. where strafing can be more mitigated.
3. play as much as you can to try to take the edge off, see if you know someone who is really good at it (strafing) and practice against them until its not as daunting.
4. forge gun.
5. Dont use the burst HMG
6. Run dmg mods
7. never use a sentinel
8. dont use armor mods
9. more stuff i cant remember that i just do out of pure habit.
All of these stats are really just a tourniquet till things get more sorted out and CCP fixes the issues.
One thing you must realize is that most people have quit the heavy class. So since heavies have pretty much be hunted to extinction the last good heavies you see are the last lions. The best of the best who just wont quit the suit no matter what. Its evolutionary extinction where only the strongest have managed to survive as their race has died off. I can name on my hands probably the last pro heavys left since respec.
Your in for a rough ride and probably one of the hardest learning curves and suits in the game IMHO.
Hell I use the burst HMG exclusively because I'm a glutton for punishment and because I have been using it for over a year now, I'm to old and too tired to learn a new trick. |

When I'm able I tend to fall back to the Tooler drill. (RL tactic) The drill and strafing is a bit different but the concept seems to well enough in game. The simplified version in game: All weapons are right handed so this makes it easier, As they start dancing I fall back and to the right (their left) This forces them to adjust to a greater degree and into my line of fire (usually) and puts distance between us which allows for better target tracking. Terrain awareness helps too, if, while falling back, you can get close to cover all the better.
It doesn't always work but I seem to have a bit of luck with it. But thats only 1v1. |

Can't really say much about HMGs on this I'm a FG-er. Someone else around here had said something about switching to his SMG when dealing with strafey scouts.
Depending if they are ducking into and out of cover I'll switch up on weapons. But on it's all footwork on open terrain I use the Toxin SMG. Aiming while mostly using the the movement stick to counter move and the aim stick for minor adjustments. The idea being to rake burst fire around the head while making it harder for him to return effective fire.
For some reason outside of aiming my SMG seems to shoot everywhere except where it is pointed. |

I'm not a heavy but this is what I do. Just jump to thier side while hip firing. This will force them out of thier straff so the can adjust to your position. |
