I decided to use a profile dampener, kinetic catalyzer, range amplifier and profile precision module. All these were militia grade. They replaced the enhanced shield extender, 2 enhanced armor plates and standard shield rep I usually run...
Folks the results were stunning. I was literally going right past enemies and they didn't even see me. It was luder! Plus my modules for detection practically gave my guy x-ray vision.
It all makes sense now! The 2 extra eyes are not for controlling drones, no, they are futuristic night vision goggles, just like they guy in Splinter Cell had. Why 4 instead of 3? Because it's the future and 4 eyed night vision goggles exist! Also, the suit is very similar looking to the crisis suits. Crisis is known as a stealth game, complete with cloak. Also, CUP has said that they want Shields to give a bigger profile. A suit that does not allow for heavy shields would be ideal for stealth. Gallante made Nova Knives. That screams Ninja! = Stealth! AR's are suppose the least range of all rifles, so CQC, where all the stealth mods are really needed. Plus, what is the point of giving us 3 low slots anyhow? Not for armor, I'll say that much.
It is without a doubt in my mind that the Gallante Assault suit is for stealth play, not the Armor tanking suit everyone thinks it is. |

Anyone ever notice how The Gallante Assault has a face on it's back? It is there just to scare the enemy. Because as we learned long ago, even animals will hesitate to attack if they think they are being watched. More evidence! |

But I have to disagree with you on the stealth...assault is for assault. It's not his fault that armor plates suck. It could be used for speed tanking though. Assault suit is for assault? We'll, then use it to flank and assault from behind. |

You waste a slot on a precision enhancer? You realise your scan radius is just a few meters, so that's not even doing anything at all for your radar. See he made the mistake of not using the Gallante Assault! ;)
Nah, bro but he did actually make a good move with the precision enhancer. So props :D |

That precision enhancer is like eyes on the back of your head.

Sgt Kirk wrote:A month from now wrote:"To prevent Gallente from having this advantage CCP removed profile dampeners" You bet your sweet buttered buns that's what would happen. Because everybody would complain that we have Xray vision and practically cloaks. But who cares, not enough people use it. Just today I saw to posts saying that this suit needs more incentives to use armor! How much more of a maroon can you be!? |

Harpyja wrote:I never understood why Gallente dropsuits are better armor tankers than Amarr. The Amarr have the best armor plating in New Eden. The fact that they even made Amarr dual tanks outrages me! Gallente in EVE don't have as much low slots as the Amarr do. They are built for speed (well, the Minmatar are hands down the fastest) because of their close range weapons, not for being a wall of armor; the Amarr are supposed to be the wall of armor. Don't they get more shields and armor than any other suit, base? |

Django Quik wrote:Heh, it's a nice story and idea but the reality means it's all pretty pointless.
Profile and precision only affect your passive scanning, which has a tiny radius even on maxed out scout suits.
CCP confirmed a while back that shields do not affect your profile.
LOS negates all stealth tactics, so you have to always come from out of sight and all the enemy has to do is suddenly turn when you're still 50m out and you're done for.
All these things need fixing before stealth can be an even vaguely playable style. I'm surprised that people have not figured out that I am being sarcastic in this post. I'm practically saying, "Armor tanking sucks so bad, that I'd rather go stealth". This is capitalized by the fact everybody knows stealth builds on anything outside scouts suck.
So basically. Armor tanking sucks. |

Watch out scouts! Aztec is on the loose! This thread was last bumped in September. Kill yourself.
I shall now commit Seppuku with Nova Knives to regain my HONOR!
And get a new clone later...
