Half of the trouble is learning all the weapon ranges/maps, just build your core skills that effect all suits,.
if you want to keep your 5+ ratio you need to be in squads 90% of the time, or be a hill sniper...

This game just seems so poorly thought out it's pathetic. I decided to try it out cause it's free and supports kb/m and gave me an excuse to use the ps3 that was collecting dust. But seriously this grind is worse than Aeon's, and that is just to get to a point where my suit is only 20% worse than everyone else on the battlefield. I don't see how any FPS developer couldn't think it would be ok to put players with less than half the xp and experience together in a match.
Basically what's I've heard so far is in order for me to be competitive I have to spend the next 2-3 months playing in games where I either have to redline snipe or run people over in LAV's to do anything of note. Such poor game design boggles my mind, but what can you expect fom a free game. |

As a side note, keep striving little blueberry! The key is to try and form up squads to improve your life span. If you find yourself unable to kill targets in a particular game, try switching your role up to something a bit more defensive to help your team out. That way you can at least get some decent war points even if your team is sucking. Uplinks and nanite injectors are great for earning WP.
If you feel like you need some help from higher tier players, add me on PSN (Funkeewhale) and ill invite you and get you winning games. That goes for any newbros who feel like they're getting roughed up too much Why do people use such negative terms? Why can't we use something along the lines of "newer player" or "rookie"? Every-time I read someone using that term I either think they're not very old or their IQ is not that high... Nothing against you of course, I was just pointing something out.
Hahaha I think it's just something that's unique to this game. I didn't even consciously about it as a negative term. Blueberry status to me is just someone who is new to the game and/or does incredibly dumb things like crashing their LAV into yours or blocking a doorway as it's getting grenade spammed. You know?
I find it hilarious how all of a sudden "blueberry" is a negative term. Next time I'm in the supermarket on my phone I'm gonna yell about all the stupid blueberries and all the dumb things they do.

In theory this game is amazing, but it seems the developers took a page out of biowares failed plan for PvP in SWTOR and decided everyone from level 15-60 should bein in the same warzones. However at least in SWTOR you where "only" lacking abilities compared to your opponents as they boosted everyones stats, in Dust they don't even do that. They just pit fresh level 1 charecters up against level 60's and expect the game to thrive. K dude best advice I can give you is this:
Spend money ! Get at least a merc pack an use the aur for a passive sp booster an also try an get a scout blueprint suit.
You will need: Militia logi Scout bpo or minmatar scout militia Smg bpo( minimal CPU pg Drop uplinks an sniper rifle militia code breaker Speed Mod Endurance mod
Now your boosters are gonna magnify your sp you recieve after match so your objective is wp
Match start: scout hack an uplinks until you die Supply depo switch to logi drop militia nano hive in key deffencive areas, go back switch to best suit; fight die repeat.
Make it your job to stay on the outskirts , hack, snipe, an shift the balance with uplinks an be sneaky.
This is a good way to get first place especially when u repair teammates too. After you get 8 spawns on your link get another down.
All I did in the beginning was boosters , scout, repairs, an sniper This makes you able to read the battle an believe it or not it can make your team win You gain a lot of points this way an you will make a lot of money too.
You will make more sp an isk faster than just killing, an it will make you crazy tactical!
Do it for a month straight, end of the month you will have tons of money an sp so that when you actually get proto gear you can afford it often.
Delete most of your fits an replace them with cheapies Have a: Scout runner hacker, uplinks Logi repair an nano Assault with repair Scout sniper for recon an open maps Heavy or logistics sniper for rdline after your first in scout hacks, drops links an dies Keep the red line sniper close to a supply depo so you can switch back to scout to drop mor links to support your team
Do all this an you will feel good, make a lot of points an isk It never hurts to have a advanced sniper rifle but other than that try an dicipline yourself not to spend so for a month. Since after this month of this method you might find a role you like better than what you specialized in thus far Good luck |

HowDidThatTaste wrote:I would suggest go ahead and start another character with passive SP left on this one.
Go through the academy with another character that also has passive SP, learn from your mistakes on your first pass through the academy and specialize your suit better.
Rinse and repeat you will have a few passive SP characters cooking while you are still playing and learning, next time also start recruiting players to squad with you consistently, that way you can all come out together.
He's not making FPS mistakes, he's just low on SP, which he can do nothing about. |

Just do what I told you to do you'll thank me for it later. I started in feb in open beta an had to fight all the closed beta players with over ten million sp. So I tried many rolls an wasted sp untill uprising came an I honed in on scout.
Do what makes war points an kill steal really wounded people, also look into remote explosives Make two scouts one with r/e the other uplinks. Depending on the map use the r/e scout to trap a letter, get the cru hack the the supply depo, by this time you should be able to switch to the drop link scout , plant a link so your team has 2 spawn points, switch back to r/e scout an blow your ex an kill from a distance, then bugger off with a suit of full r/e an hack and do it again, but keep putting links down an hide. Get good at scout it's the hardest to play, assassins start with a sniper an work their way to a knife. In this game you have to do the same, the learning curve is crazy hard but awesome |

I think most of the game mechanics are fine, if you've invested so much time to get proto gear it has to be for some benefit, but yes new players do need extra time in academy. I'm not in a position to know what proto stomping is like, I'm just about to enter adv gear. But rest assured that if I can usually hold my own in basic gear then you will too. Take your time and think about where you spend your SP. If you find a role that you love stick with it and it will work, give it time.
I wont tell you what to do, its down to personal choice -but I will say an active scanner will tell you when entering somewhere is hopeless to enter, what direction the enemy is facing so you can take them by surprise and get the first shot and has saved my ass more times than I can count. just dont get caught in mid scan cycle when they come up in front of you |

It was the same at the start new people vs beta veterans, they knew what to get first while we derped around our sp, didnt really stop me much from raping em, if you can only keep that KDR up when facing off against complete new people, maybe that KDR boot that youve been shoving up peoples rears doesnt fit your foot Cinderella err i mean DT... |

I know that feel :(. That was me when I joined late beta, getting rocked by everything under the sun. I want to say it gets better - it does eventually.. But it's going to be awhile before you can compete probably. Wish it was not the case, but it took about 2 months of mindless grinding to get somewhere decent(and that was before the giant SP sinks - I imagine it's worse now).

Me neither. Maybe if itGÇÖs a MLT armour tank I can pop it with couple of volleys of packed AV grenades, but a well fit tank, no.
Quote:the high end grenades one shot me from 7.2 meters away (just being spammed in clusters)
Same here. Not even just high end ones, generally any grenade is potential OHK. I armour tank.
Quote:and I can't ever provide myself with nanohives.
Oh, donGÇÖt know how that happenedGǪ And to put this in perspective, I have 12,5 mil SP.
You say youGÇÖre an assault, what race? By your picture youGÇÖre Caldari, but do you use Caldari suits? I have no idea how you could possibly have less than 300 HP, with modules and no nanohive, unless you have accidentally picked a scout suit. The base HP (no modules or SP invested) for an assault is 330 HP (360 for Amarr), so how did you get less than that?
Concentrate on core skills; shields, armour, CPU/PG and so on. In battle, don't try to solo proto suits. Stick with your squad or team, pick your battles and run when you're outmatched. Also, stop worrying about your KDR, it will get better as you play longer.
And don't mock Dust uni, they help new players. You may have run across a few of them but most likely, the ones you have faced are just as new as you are.
