I know this is going to get flamed and whatnot but whatever.
TLDR CCP please just focus on whatever it takes to increase player retention and new player experience.
By this I mean if it takes not listening to us, do so. Forums are always full of whining, crying neckbeards that think they should have i-win buttons or that defend the ones they have, but honestly they are not your bread and butter. The people who will make this game succeed will never come near the forums, and that is who you should be aiming towards.
Here is a thought, I have been playing this game for a relatively short period of time, 3 weeks or so, and even in that small amount of time I have noticed a decline in rookie fits running around. This is absolutely a bad sign. The amount of people running around in starter fits reflects your newer population and that is what this game needs if it is going to survive.
I played eve for a very long time, so I know am very familiar with the face smashing you constantly receive as a new player trying to live eve. There is however a refuge in eve, high-sec, while not completely free from griefers, is a place where your average joe can go and have some fun without competing with highly skilled vets.
This game has no where for the newer/less skilled players to go to avoid getting destroyed. There is only so many times a new player will enter the game and get pub-stomped before they just quit.
I know, some of you neckbeards are going to say "good let them quit, who needs em" and to that I say, you need them. If you like this game at all, you should be all for bettering newer player experiences, because without them this game dies.
EDIT: Case in point:
I played a skirmish yesterday where one team had 2-3 tanks and 2 dropships, all fully proto'd out against a bunch of unknowing scrubs (I was lucky enough to be on the tankers side.) This is no good at all for the game and everyone knows it.
EDIT II:
Oh since I have a LAV BPO, I murder taxi my butt off. It is pretty much the only equalizer I have against proto-pub stompers, and it brings me an immense amount of joy to run over a 100K+ isk fit. |

We've discussed what is killing new player retention in an FPS and isolating them isnt what will make it better, its removing the cap so players can progress. Beyond this i suggest you start with a focused look at sticky threads and comb through feedback and GD since closed beta. You simply are far too new to understand precisely why this community is fed up with CCP. Hell you werent even around to see how many more veteran players were here begging CCP to make this game better and how to do it. There is simply no more reasoning with CCP, hell there is no more reason in even bitching about it. Its just time to leave and never come back.
Then leave and never come back, why post here? Is your goal to make everyone feel as crappy as you do?
While I am new to THIS game, I am by no means new to games, so to try and discount what I have to say because of my time here is ridiculous.
I am a new player, I am telling you that the new player experience can and should be the #1 focus for CCP right now. As it is right now, it sucks, and there is no salvation for the new player. I drew a corollary with high-sec in eve because CCP does know how to help people starting out. In Eve, guess where 90% of the server population resides?
Trust me they listen, I played eve for 5+ years and frequented the forums, so when dealing with this company I do have a bit of experience. CCP is a tiny developer, they are not super fast to fix things because they cannot just throw an 80-man development team at a problem. They do listen, they read the hell out of the forums but ever since around 2006 they stopped being as vocal in forums because of the backlash. Then T20 incident really changed the way employees are even allowed to post on forums.
