Fighting for salvage in the ruins of an ancient Jovian ship that has crash landed in an abyss! Limited visibility. You and your team attempt to either get the most ISK through securing salvage or depleting each others clones. You also face hazardous terrain and the ships ancient defenses. At the end of the battle you can choose between two rewards; what will it be, hard ISK or ancient salvage you can either sell or use in battle?
Basic concept ^
Details:
Terrain Half the map will be on the remains of the ship and the other half will be on the terrain that is splattered by ancient salvage. The map will be rectangular in shape, one side will be blocked off by the remains of the ship, opposite of that will be a cliff, the two other sides will be blocked off by the walls of the abyss. The floor is full of cracks that you can fall into. Pools of liquid nitrogen, that slow you down and progressively hurt you. Some of the electrical systems have affected large portions of the ship, making certain areas inaccessible until the power is shut down, though then only the emergency red lights will remain as your only source of light. Some of the on board defenses are still somewhat operational, so you will be targeted by them, the majority will be turrets. Inside the ship there will be hangers full of vehicles, though only a few will be in working condition, the others will merely be environmental obstacles. The obstacles are in place to keep people from just running militia scout suits, because heavy suits will be needed to destroy turrets and to destroy defenses. Some defenses may be take less time to destroy for an HMG or forge gun, then it would take for a scout to hack. Some will take 25+ seconds to hack, on average, while it may take a heavy less than half the time to get through.
Where to find Salvage Salvage is everywhere, in the middle of a field, behind rocks, in piles of junk, behind turret defenses, behind laser grids, in the middle of pools of acid (in the ship) or even on top of rocks in the middle of pools of liquid nitrogen. The deeper you go into the ship, the better loot you will find, though there is also less to find. Vehicles will be located in hangers, as well as strewn about, sometimes flipped and tipped, around the battlefield, most are militia though a few are proto or even officer. Deal is the easiest salvage to get is not always the best salvage.
How Salvage spawns Salvage is spawned in areas according to probability so rarer stuff will be behind more hazardous obstacles. That said, there is still randomness, so even though you may have just spent 5 minutes destroying turrets to get to the cases behind them, their may be nothing... Or maybe just a militia scrambler pistol , Though, it can work to your favor as well. 'Garbage piles', piles of rocks, debris and clutter, usually only low tier militia and standard gear will spawn here. Though on rare occasions you may find a proto officer weapon or suit.
Securing Salvage You keep all the salvage you find, on your clone's suit. If you still want to keep it on the off chance you die, then secure it. You can secure any salvage you have collected by going into your equipment slot and clicking secure. Any and all loot collected will start to transfer to your inventory. If you are killed while or before securing your items, then you will lose them and they will be destroyed. As a side note, any salvage that has been secured in your inventory will be inaccessible during battle.
Time it takes to secure, in seconds Modules (vehicle and suit) - 2 Sidearms - 3 Equipment - 5 Light/heavy weapons - 8 Light suits - 10 Medium suits - 14 Heavy suits - 15 Turrets - 8 Vehicles - 25
How to win the match There are two ways to win. You can either kill all 200 clones. Or you can do it by getting the most valuable salvage; at the end of the match the game will add up the total ISK your entire team's collective salvage is worth. Whoever has the most ISK through salvage, wins.
Rewards Asides from any SP you may get from competing in game, you have the choice between two rewards. You can either choose to keep any and all salvage you managed to secure in game or the ISK you earned through WP and just being in game.
Notes*: I call this game mode, RECALL. There have been many similar suggestions before, though I decided to have my hand at it. Lore is that an Ancient Jove ship crashed into an Abyss while carrying precious cargo. It was cloaked by the Jovians. Tough recent seismic activity on the planet has caused the cloak to malfunction. Now corps compete for the ancient salvage.

Any ways it's an ancient Warship, could be from before the Joves hid away.
Bottom line. Do you like the basic concept? I could give two flips about the lore used for this. I care a lot more about the gamemode. So could we please discuss that? |

I like the concept of looting sites, even though it makes me think of all the Borderlands I've played.
Let CCP figure out what is lore relevant. That's their job. Looking ahead, it could just as well be the very next match type offered, after destroying a Planetary Interaction facility.

You are discussing the least important characteristic of this concept.

So what if this was changed to a PVE scenario. An EVE player/group of players doing archeology, hacking, or whatever it is those crazy scanner kids do with their probes. They arrive at the site and blow something up, track something down, and it ends up crashing down on a nearby planet... Durn contract it out to the mercs, they'll mop up and retrieve whatever gold and shiny was on that crashed ship. |

I only considered this from a Dust perspective. Your idea is marvelous! One amendment I would like to add is that it could be either PVP or PVE. I do not feel it is just to let it exist in only one realm. That said I will fix the OP for this brilliant new idea! Though in the morning, tonight I am past my prime, though I digress; thank you my friend! :D |

This.....is freaking awesome!!!!!! How would you secure loot though? Would you "hack" it? Would you just stand around it whilst a bar at the bottom of the screen fills up telling you how much longer (like capturing command posts in warhawk)? |

"You can secure an unlimited amount of savage at the same time. You are not impeded when you secure items, you are still able to jump, shoot and run with no penalty. You can secure all the objects you have on your person by going to the equipment wheel and selecting the tab that says SECURE. it starts securing all items you have at the same time.
How it would look -Each time you start securing items, the first 5 you have will be shown vertically, with icons, on the left side of your screen, the icon shows a very basic rendition of the item (a thin body silhouette depicts light frame suits) it also has a small bar and percentage shown below the mod. Each time an item is secure, it will flash green and will disappear, if you have more then 5 items, the next modules progression will be shown."
Yeah it was kind of hidden below some of the numbers. But there^ it is. Going to edit the post to make it stand out more.
