I love DUST 514. I'm no Veteran, I wasn't in the Closed Beta, however I'm no Newberry.
I've been enjoying this game greatly, playing with my Corp. and enjoying the frequent changes even if some a bad. I feel that the game is actually alive and I couldn't wait to become a better part of the community so I joined the forums.
Now that I'm here, all I see is "I hate DUST" "F##k Update X" "I quit this Piece of S##t Game" and so on. What is wrong with you people, not that you're all like this but the majority of people are just crying and crying.
If you don't like this game and hate it so much, uninstall it. Don't cry about it to these forums, or CCP. However, if you have a rational suggestion or feedback share it, but crying about every single feature.. Grow Up.
DUST 514 is the closet thing I've ever seen to a full community controlled game, and I love that. I'm glad we have CCP to make the final calls though, prevents total anarchy. You can't scream that they don't listen just because they ignored your moronic idea, or it's taking time to implement it. They do listen, just look they've started to counter Murder Taxi's and even Assault-Logi's. Not to mention everything else.
If you hate DUST 514, You hate it, that's it, book closed. Personally I treat DUST 514 like High School. Some days I loved it, others I hate it, sometimes I even screamed it wasn't fair. But now that it's no longer there, I miss it.
TL:DR: Grow up and quit bitching.
Partially agree.
What I found initially troubling about the forums was indeed the apparent intimacy with which everyone seemed to know each other. However that was back in Closed Beta; the population has opened up by now. But still, there is a sense that the big threads are made by an exclusive sect of people who many listen to.
It's daunting, therefore, for a newbie to try get on the forum, especially now, when they're most needed. Fresh opinions, we need them. And yet, these opinions run screaming when they open the first page of general discussion and find... Well, bluntly, a pile of kitten, with the odd good thread or post.
I think no forum community is complete without its trolls, but to the point where new players rarely try express themselves? Kinda sad. |
