about the forge gun?
O.o
I've used the forge gun for a combined total of over 6 months, and now am just a few days from being able to use my Gaston's. My Ishokune is death incarnate. I snipe snipers with this thing. I lock down entire sections of the map by getting a little high ground. I DESTROY vehicles of all kinds. Dropships don't stand a chance, and only the toughest LLAVs escape me. With AV grenades and an LAV of my own, I rarely face an HAV that is a match for me (solo).
I can put out almost 4000 damage in under 4 seconds, so long as my aim is descent. My controller is actually broken and causes my camera to randomly swing in any given direction, and I STILL decimate with this monster.
And it isn't just my Ishokune. No. CCP went and put in the Militia forgegun, which I used to use quite a lot. It's nowhere near as bad as you might think, and can be fit on a militia heavy DAY ONE. BAM, AV specialist right off the bat, drop some SP for basic AV nades and buy yourself a militia LAV, you'd be amazed how effective you can be. As a former dropship pilot who logged plenty of flight time before and after Uprising, I can safely say that Dropships have no place in the game while forge guns remain as effective as they are against them.
Like Zeus atop Mt Olympus, I rain hell from towers upon infantry and vehicle alike. I decimate all but the most distant or persistent snipers, and laugh at the foolish dropships that dare approach me.
Why is no one crying about the Forge Gun?

Iron Wolf Saber wrote:Sorry if I forged you today, was testing out the breach variant now that I am leveling 2'ing all my skills. Twasn't you, it was r92cp from DIOS EX. I was blowing up his dropships so he came in with his forge gun and started blowing up my LAVs and stuff. I was taking down one of his mates and I heard my LAV getting exploded. I look back, it goes boom, and I look around for the source. Another boom goes off, then I see him a ways off with the high ground, reloading. I take a shot, miss.
I line up another shot, we both go still for a second getting our aim, I fire, kill him, then suddenly I die by his forge gun. It was amazing >_<
The cool **** always happens when I DON'T record

Himiko Kuronaga wrote:Because while the Forge Gun is a good weapon and does EXACTLY what it is supposed to do, it also has serious drawbacks. I guess I just wish it wasn't so easy to kill infantry with it :/ And I wish vehicles stood a little more of a chance against it....because....I slay like....all the things with my Ishokune.
It's great fun and makes me laugh. This is a strong indication that it might be a smidge too awesome ;) |

THEAMAZING POTHEAD wrote:its already been said that they are going to nerf its range by givin it damage decay over distance, the QQ'ers have already gotten what they want it just hasn't been implemented yet. So shut yer traps ya damn nerfers. Fact is the damn thing already has a ton of drawbacks, like the fact that even at its best, on a tower, you can simply snipe and keep everyone suppressed on the tower, while getting free kills, and in an lav you can simply destroy his lav with your tank and ahnilate him while he charges unless you're a garbage tanker, not to mention real tankers are armor tankers and sponge up 7-10 shots from an ishukone w/ damage mods. You can easily kill most tanks because most tanks are fitted with garbage. Not because the FG is OP. I hope it gets damage decay, Ive wanted that for a long long time. That change alone will work wonders in helping popships to not pop. Im looking forward to that and maybe a smidge less splash radius, to keep forge sniping more in the "skilled" category. |
