I truly believe it is UNETHICAL for you to nerf anything that people have worked hard to skill into. INSTEAD, if you feel, or the whiny players are overwhelming you to "balance", then offer a counter measure, but don't take anything away from people who skilled up to something YOU offered.
For instance, if a complaint from the Heavy's comes in that the TARs are too powerful, don't nerf the TAR to make it so Heavy's can't be killed. Create a special module/shield that can be substituted for those who have that complaint.
Now they have been given a choice to give up something to defend against their pet peeve, and the people who worked hard to get whatever it is, don't feel sh_t upon, or that they wasted their time pursuing that feature or weapon etc.
Also, you are then not perceived as rewarding the loudest complainers by making them the superior force in battle. You have given everybody a choice, not just the whiny's.
I know that is a philosophical change, and therefore, probably a pipe dream. But you guys have screwed me back to back with taking away features that I worked hard to get. I pursued them based on what YOU said they would have.
Then when I get there, you listen to the whiny's who didn't do their homework and now feel it's unfair, and you take back what you offered instead of giving an option to the whiny's. |

That just requires a longer time to kill people, or a useless role.
There should be a line. a balance line. Therefore buffs and nerfs will be given out accordingly
I agree with you on the buffing up part. My idea is more of a SPECIFIC option to defend or balance against a specific threat or feature.
In other words, you don't make all shields go so high as to defend against all threats, but you offer a specific shield.
This way, it's a trade off. It takes away the idea that any weapon is superior and that everything will be a soft target to it. Yet the people who skilled up to it, don't lose anything, just some of their targets will become harder to kill.
Not everybody will swap out a shield charger for a Flaylock shield (for instance), but some will.

I just heard several heavy's complaining in chat's that the Tac ARs were too effective. Then they got nerfed. Now I see the Heavy's stand in the middle of everyone and mow everybody else down. So they got what they wanted. I don't understand how that helps the game. The TARs were a balance prior to the nerfing, not after. |
