I have been waiting for some dropship love since closed beta. Instead, it has only gotten worse, ALOT worse. Every single player seems to have a proto AV suit hidden away, ready to be donned to make my role as a logi ship pilot not only worthless to the team, but also unplayable.
My main problem is forge guns. I have over 3000 shields, 1000 armor and around 20% shield damage resists, and yet I can be swatted out of the sky, accross the map, in two hits. Heck, I can't even react to the first shot, before the second shot has already landed, I catch fire, and not a single armor repper can save me from plummeting to my death. Fly evasively you say? Go ahead, I dare you to move a logi ship out of harms way quickly, the things handle like floating hippos.
Also, who had the brilliant idea to make it possible to knock a severeal hundred thousand isk dropship out of the sky with a PISTOL!? That's right, the lowest level flaylock won't do any real damage, but can flip the entire ship upside down, leaving the pilot no chance to survive, no matter how many skill points are invested, and how well they fly their ships.
Swarms... Swarms I can handle. Add some kind of lock on warning, so I have a real chance to use some evasive manoeuvers, and I'll be happy. Some flares, or lock on disruptors would also be welcome. At the moment, by the time you are hit with the first volley, the second is on it's way, and the third has already locked on.
Everybody that plays this game knows that dropships are in need of serious help. There aren't as many threads as there are on tanks and lavs, but that's simply because you have neglected the dropship for so long, that nobody will use them. My question is, as a dedicated DS pilot, how long will I have to wait, before this game is playable? You seem very busy tweaking lavs at the moment, vehicles that have been an annoyance, sure, but not broken in the same sense that dropships are. At least drop the price of the things further, just until you have reworked them. As it stands right now, dropships are in no way shape or form working as intended.
PS: The sheer audacity of releasing a dropship pack on the PSN store is mind boggling, and I sincerely hope that the customers that have bought the pack get a full refund, or at least a restock of ships, once they are fixed. |

Fighters need to be put on the back burner, until dropships are fixed. Just my two cents. |

Redesign them as transport vehicles, and have pilots get WPs when a player (that was previously in their ship) gets a kill, assist, hack, etc.
Replace Dropships with Fighters. No Why do you disapprove?
I just think it was a disapproval of fighters. This game is very far from ready to have new vehicles implemented. Too bad it seems that that's all that the CCP vehicle team wants to do |

Forges, dear god are insane. Especially since they are no longer Light Brights when charging so it's crazy hard to see where they are coming from.
Flaylock effects are just dumb.
Swarms are fine as you can easily outrun them. Maybe a warning should be added but not one that goes off and let's you just easily just rush away, I like that it takes the hit/visual to set you on edge.
Again, I challenge you to outrun swarms in a logi ship. They can tank the damage, though, so it isn't as bad as with forges, heck, sometimes I even approach the swarmers, with my gunners side facing them, so he/she can take them out.
When it comes to adding new stuff, it is a terrible idea at this point. CCP needs to fix what is broken first, and not waste time building new vehicles, as that would mean them never getting around to fixing some huge issues.
Finally, waiting until january may be my only choice, except by then I'll be playing on my PS4, and I'm not seeing this game making that move any time soon.
CCP basically needs to understand that this game is in trouble. We are out of beta, but they are still taking their sweet time with simple fixes, additions and features. It doesn't help that they are constantly on holiday either, and truth be told, I have a feeling this whole "Dust 514" project was more of an experiment on CCP's side, rather than a genuine game idea. The experiment clearly isn't working out, player numbers are falling, meaning that the game financing will soon disppear, and we will all be left with a memory of a game that could have been great, but had no real commitment from the developing company's side.
To be clear, I have no wish to see this game fail. Unfortunately, having played other failed mmo's (Tabula Rasa, The Matrix Online), there are too many similarities with what is happening here. Lack of content and fixes, no real feedback from devs... It always ends badly. |
