I know, I know, this weapon was god mode back in the early days, but it was nerfed to uselessness and has never recovered since.
It has lower range, lower DPS and smaller clip size, trading it all for slightly better hip fire accuracy, which isn't that big of a deal when a normal AR already has very good hip fire accuracy. So it's a CQC weapon that gets beaten by a medium range weapon, gotchya.
Here are two ways to fix it: Increase the range, but then it steps on the TAC AR's toes too much.
Increase damage or fire rate. I would say fire rate, the way this weapon operates right now doesn't feel right, mainly do to it's extremely low fire rate.
So now that it has been decided to increase fire rate, by how much? Well, this weapon trades both range and clip size, I think it would be fair to give it higher DPS. I crunched some numbers, and decided that the best fire rate would be 588.2, putting it at 500 DPS. Before you hiss at me and say OP, this is just 75 DPS more than the standard assault rifle. I think for the range and clip size loss, this is fair. |

As it stands now, the breach can't even hold it's own against a full auto AR in close quarters, where the breach was designed to win. Yup, that's my suggestion, increasing it to 588.2 will give it the edge it needs at CQC without making it OP.
The breach AR optimal is 30 meters, and after that the damage drops drastically. |

Definitely RoF or damage. 588.2 seems pretty high tho. That puts the Breach AR at 500 DPS, 75 more than the standard assault rifle (425). Considering after 30 meters the damage starts dropping dramatically, and the clip will run out very quickly, I think that's fair. The normal AR starts losing damage after 60m, and it's clip lasts longer. |

In that case ROF would be the way to go to improve this weapon since a weapon intended for high maneuverability should have a good rate of fire to make shooting while strafing easier. Nope. The combat rifle is the burst rifle. |
