I think they is something "wrong" with tanks and certainly derpships... if making them harder to kill is the answer, I'm not so sure... It's fair to say, that I kill many tanks using standard AV nades, other than super tanked Gunlogis. Even the advanced tanks are killable if the driver is a moron with just a couple of guys.
However... I'm also minded to think, that a tank supported by a good ground team and used tactically both adds something great options and becomes very hard to kill. Both in PC and Pub matches.
Using them in pub matches with no support, just a driver and no gunners and expecting them to be hard to kill is perhaps a little foolish (no offensive meant).
As for Dropships, the biggest threat is swarms, a good pilot will avoid being killed by forge guns just though good flying, swarms are hard to "out fly". Also, if you look at the Eve missile mechanics, even locked on missiles don't hit for full damage every single time, as they do in Dust. Surely, in a far future universe, tech designers would have made some kinda of counter measure.... like we have today.
(i do think that is a kinda lame that a proto forge can, if skilled and/or lucky can one shot even a fairly heavily tanked drop ship)
On your point about armour resist to explosive damage... well fitting harders is the answer there chap.
And I agree 100% the range on remote reps should be increased... certainly on logistic dropships... as they are in Eve.
