We just need a more complete 'rifle' tree in general.
RR, CR, ScR, LR all still need regular variants as well as officer variants.
Pretty sure it was all put on hold so Remnant could build a new system that will nerf logi bonuses into the ground instead.

Zeylon Rho wrote:This thread has joined the not-so-elite club of threads that Zdub drops into to complain about the obviously completely left-field to him Cal-Logi nerfs. Whine and cheese for everyone! I'd like to see officer variants for the Scrambler as well. ARs have both the Krin's and Balac's as I recall. Interesting that they'd make two variants for one weapon before they make any for others.
Have I ever complained about the nerf? I think all logis needed a buff instead, ive said that many times but I am fine and have lived with the nerf myself. I've never said anything about the nerf being unjustified.
You subdreddit guys just love to **** talk about me on here... I find it kind of interesting. I can't believe you guys are still so better I left... |

The equipment comments comes because of the 20 CPU nerf... which I don't think anyone understands?
All of the rest of it is because I feel very strongly about the fact that by changing the bonuses to the cal logi suit, those who used it should have the opportunity to reallocate their SP as necessary. I'm fine with my build, and i'm fine with the removal of the extender bonus, but other people i know just get straight boned, and their whole playstyle is ****** because of it.
Why should they have to 'live with their choices'? They made a choice based on how the cal logi was designed, and now its being changed. They should then be allowed to make new choices based on the new design of the new dropsuits after a patch change.
With 1.4, they are completely changing logis to be only support focused. This is not the logi I signed up for, as well as many others. If they don't reallocate SP at that point, I can only imagine how many people are going to be gone for good. Myself included.
Fact of the matter is... 2.47 million SP is a lot to grind for when you aren't happy with your build... I don't care what people say about 'living with your choices' and 'deserving to be screwed over cause you chose FOTM'. FOTM is NOT the players fault, its CCPs fault. and if CCP wants to tell its customers to **** off and harden the **** up. Well... I can take my business elsewhere, that's fine with me.
So yeah... i'm not bitching about the nerf. That's rebalancing, fine with me. But i'm trying to raise a **** storm about the lack of a respec after the change.
Don't want to issue a global respec after 1.3? Im not happy about it but if its not here for 1.4, then its over for a few people I know, myself included. |

Zeylon Rho wrote:I've been hoarding SP since the respec, so I probably have a different perspective. They said there wouldn't be another respec, so I was waiting for the various intimated suit changes to go through. Considering they said there wouldn't be another respec, I figure that saving my SP is the only route I could go if I didn't want to get screwed by upcoming changes (I was a Cal-Logi before the respec).
So, I look at it as my putting in time at an SP disadvantage whenever I play because I haven't spent SP in suits or weapons (waiting for the remaining rifles as well). This is a combination of waiting for these things that seemed immediately around the corner at E3 (the combat rifle in the video, etc.). Two months of not spending SP now. That's over two months of just sitting on SP now.
In a way, I'm a the direct opposite of you here. The game's been a slog without being able to use decent weapons or suits. The payoff is being able to put the points where they matter when the time comes, right? But when does that time ever come?
If people do get respecs, it in effect devalues my taking them at their word and not spending any SP for months. My battles were harder than people with comparable time in the game because I was stuck in militia gear. The changes to the Cal-Logi are exactly why I didn't sink points back into it. Suit changes were suggested by devs prior to the last respec.
Obviously, playing for months without spending SP isn't an ideal solution to their weapon/suit system not being ironed out. Frequent respecs also change the sense of investment in the game though. I posted multiple times in the thread about placeholder suits hoping to see the skill-tree fleshed out before the respec. Because if you're expecting us to plan something long-term, lacking that sort of information on high-SP skills like suits is just... silly.
The Cal-Logi I tend to view as a somewhat separate matter because it was performing outside of its role. However, I think there was merit to the idea of buffing all the other suits (a survivable medic makes sense after all). I just didn't think it was a likely scenario.
In either case, I think CCP could put more time into telegraphing changes ahead of time. 1.3 was set at the beginning of the month when the content was sent in, but we're only hearing about the suit changes now. Why the wait?
I'm pretty sure they've never said they will do another SP refund. No more SP resets? Yes but never no more refunds. They may have said they haven't planned one.. but that seems obvious and self evident doesn't it?
Some people have the luxury of playing with limited SP.. I wanted to participate in PC... so I had to spend all of my SP right away in order to get the equipment I needed to function.
I understand the 'devaluing of investment' in this game. But there is no value to any SP investments when the weapons and sutis are being changed every patch. What you buy today is not what you buy tomorrow? It will work once the primary changes are in place, but for as long as they constantly sit there and tweak all of the dropsuits and weapons, I see no reason people should be forced to 'live with their choices'. |
