A tactic I use when doing PC battles is pretty much just sitting in the MCC looking at my map directing my team.
I find it much easier to coordinate the teams if I approach PC like EVE and be a commander of sorts.
I don't enter battle and I'm 0/0 at the end of the match, but by god, PC battles go so much smoother and the team and squad dynamics are one thousand fold better.
However, I'm pretty sure any anti AFK you have in the works will take into account player movement, WP, kills, etc. which may very well affect me as I take the commander role and just sit on a hill looking at the map directing my team while your system may mistake me as AFK.
Therefore, I caution you and ask you keep this in mind.
Or, you know, give us a commander role like it was discussed since, oh, about...closed beta? |

Be careful indeed. I got dropped into a match in the last minute of play and I noticed that the entire team had been redlined and were being killed seconds after leaving the MCC or spawning on the ground as they were effectively faced with a wall of lead from several tanks with infantry support.
If you limit or stop SP, WP, Kills from the redline then all you will see is large parts of the original team leave the battle the moment they get redlined since their chance of earning SP, Isk, and WP may be heavily reduced. Any new players dropped into the game at this point will probably do the same if they do not see any real chance of effecting the game which is likely if your side has lost all the points and your MCC is down to half Armor while your opponent still has 80% of their shields.
Depending on CCPs solution to AFKing may mean that they must first introduce an effective means of breaking out of the redline. They also need to look at other reasons for what looks like AFKing in the MCC or redline such as the commander role or new players with barely 600k SP redline sniping while they earn more SP to be competitive at closer quarters. |

Or make access of the overview map more intuitive and immersive so it doesn't feel as if you fainted momentarily just to view what's around you. A half-transparent HUD overlay of the overview map which shows up with a much shorter delay would be great.
Or at least add a boot-up effect and sound when you open it, so it actually looks and feels like your HUD is switching to the map, not just a simple fadeout to black, with a transition so long you're probably going to get shot by a sniper and end up on the respawn overview map before the overview map you opened. |

would not think an AFK system would be based solely on movement when you can pull up maps and stats or your fittings thats more than enough to show the system your there. |

Sigh. I miss discussions about Companies and Platoons.
You'd have one company with a couple of platoons each composed of a few squads.
Company leader manages MCC and overall battle (RTS style game play), places major assets (installations and the like). Platoon leaders direct squads, set objectives (what OP is doing), grant minor assets to squads (RDV portable). Squad leaders micromanage squads to complete objectives. |

Im sure they wont put there AFK system in PC. so you should be OK. If they did that would be pretty dumb. They should also expand your role, giving you WP for doing things like what you described. |
