So just been chilling having a chat with some EoN bros and the topic of respecs cropped up.
Theres alot of divided opinion about respecs, though at least amongst us guys having a natter around the campfire there seems to be a bit of a concensus about a few things. (This is not a GIVE US MOAR RESPECS NAOW thread)
We shouldnt be getting respecs all the time, people should learn to live with the choices they make. If you go flavour of the month then it gets nerfed its your own fault and in these situations qq'ing for a respec should be flatly ignored imo.
But when it comes to poor little noobies alot of people do feel its to much of a grind for these guys to get to the point where they are really combat effective and can be of any substantial use in a pc game. So a few points and ideas that we were throwing about were as follows:
Remove the SP cap for players under say 5mil sp. Another idea was give them 3x SP, or maybe both, though i still feel there should be a little bit of a grind, but the point being that up until a certain point that could later be determined, noob players should be free to gain sp at a faster rate than we currently do as standard so they can become properly combat effective within a few weeks rather than a few months.
Also giving new players that are in this region of sub 5mil sp the choice for a couple of respecs maybe, we all know that as a complete new guy to new eden the choices presented are probaly a bit overwhelming, and while personally i in no way condone constant respecs, if it helps to retain newer players for longer, give them the choice to respec a couple of times while they are in the early days of getting to grips with dust.
So what do people think should noobs be given sp at an increased rate? Should they get the choice of a respec while they are a noob? Thers prob something else im forgetting aswell but im sure my eon bros will jump in.
TL:DR - Give noobs no sp cap up to 5mil sp, or some other method of getting their first few mil sp quicker. Give noobs up to 5mil sp the choice of a respec or two while they get to grips with the game. |
