If you go in EVE, and train Gallente Frigate for example, here is what you get: 1. Atron 2. Imicus 3. Incursus 4. Maulus 5. Navitas 6. Tristan
So you get 6 ships (Suits) for one skill.
In Dust here is what Gallente Medium Frame suit gives you: 1. Gallente Medium Frame suit 2. Hmm... Nothing?
Give us more variations to unlock with each skill. Give a Gallente suit with one extra low slot and one less high slot. Give a Caldari suit with one extra high slot and one less low slot. Give a Minmatar suit that has a speed between the Minmatar medium and Cal/Gal medium but with a bit extra base eHP etc'
Small variations on the main suits. This will greatly lower the perception of the grind, as you get more bang for your buck. |

Not to mention you could fly a dozen ships reasonably well within a month. It is over 4 months to reach "PC-ready" in a single suit/gun combo in DUST atm. And that's IF you grind every week for 10+ hours. |

The difference is that EVE has an actual skill tree. Dust has skills in a series of linear SP sinks and ~10% of the content we should have. |

I mean, it's not as if multiple Tech-1 variants for Frigates somehow decreases the value of Tech-II ones. |

Please don't remind me of how CCP demands that they stick exactly to their SP tree that they're so used to, without actually making it worth a damn, like we're so used to.
DUST 302, because we couldn't afford to add the 212.

But this is a little way to help with the preception of the grind. Small variations that will take exactly 10 minutes to push out the door. Heck they can do it using streaming, they don't even need to do a build. |

There isn't enough differences between races to make different suits in each of them. Wait a few months. |

Maybe they should just make "Racial Medium Frame" an (x10) or (x12) skill and you get the basic frame, assault frame, and logistics frame all at once.
That way if you nerf a class, at least people have fall backs. |

That way if you nerf a class, at least people have fall backs. I thought of that, but I like the idea of having a low SP entrance to a race and then being able to go deep into it with a high SP skill. Make variations for the basic/assault/logi suits. |

Heck they can do it using streaming, they don't even need to do a build. I'd like to see more of usage of the dual-prequisite system some ships have in EVE and merge class suits within the dropsuit command tree. For example, the Sentinel and Commando shouldn't have to be a completely separate skill and dropsuit command could be useful for unlocking T-II, T-III, and faction variants to existing suits. |

This makes no sense.
Linking "PC-Ready" in DUST514 and the ship types you could fly within a month in EvE is ludicrous.
Where in EvE would you be competing at the highest level after one month? (lighting a cyno for Cap ships is all I can think of)

That Gallente frigate skill might get you all those frigates, but it doesn't get you...
1. Gallente destroyers 2. Gallente cruisers 3. Gallente battleships 4. Gallente tech 2 frigates (AFs, interceptors, etc) 5. Amarr/Caldari/Minmatar frigates 6. Industrials 7. Mining barges 8. Capitals
etc.
I think all you are doing is pointing out that there are way more Eve ships than Dust dropsuits.
I'd rather CCP focussed their effort on more/better gameplay than on cranking out more dropsuits, equipment and modules. |
