See, I always thought ringers referred to people you paid to come to your aid. ;) I stand corrected.
S.e.V.e.N. is one of the most self-sufficient corps in our alliance, but much of our alliance takes a very communal attitude to play. We all are invested in every match the alliance participates in. I come from the EVE side of things originally, but in my book, a SE7N match is no different to me than a NEMW match, except who has to be squad leader to get us in the fight.
I'm stuck doing IT work at the office. Best of luck to both sides! Fight well! |

See, but "clan" is a purely non-DUST expression. games with clans don't have alliances. I'd argue that anyone in Top Men is part of my "clan".
For example, I wouldn't advocate any of our players bringing in people from outside Top Men to a Fight Club fight. But inside the alliance, I see nothing different between just one corp in the alliance and mixing corps in the alliance. |

See, I wholeheartedly disagree that corp = clan. This is a very different environment. |

Why not take all 50 US states and merge them? I mean, when the United States deploys troops, it's not like we specify "Well, these are our Arkansas troops, and these are our New York troops." |

I don't think you can "declare war" on a single corp of our alliance either. What EVE calls a "coalition" is more close to what you're thinking of as say... allied countries in this analogy. EoN and LoI were at war, not two corps within them.
I'm not disputing the "factual definition" of ringers in FPS gaming, I'm saying you're applying the definition incorrectly. |

I honestly never realized EoN had this many corps, it's been fun to meet them all. ;D |
