Dust has little future for me, I cant get friends to play it because they wont be able to play competitive with me because the SP to max role is so ridiculously high no one is going to spend 9-12 months to get a role specked for top teir matches.
Any game that uses grind to hold back game play and competitiveness will always fail horribly with a FPS. The whole point is that as you play your role you get each new tool as part of a LEARNING curve, not some arbitrary system of numbers that suits CCP's interest and not the players. it should be managed that as you learn the game you gain the skills you need and it builds on top of itself, like any good game since monopoly.
So i can probably never play with my friends. Skill is a afterthought to grind.
And even if it took my friends a month there is nothing too this game, no epicness like in the trailers at all, I cant show other gamers I play dust and be proud of it, because the game is not respected, for those reasons and more.
Dust and CCP said this would be a competitive FPS, and CCP has yet to live up to a single promise of any magnitude.
And just look at the track record it took CCP 8 years to get this game where it is, 8 years across 2 different engines, looking across to the ps3 instead of forward to the next gen consoles and next gen gaming. Its been in development hell along with some of the worst games in history like duke nukem forever and colonial marines.
CCP has been at this for 8 years, they literally switched horses MID race! 10 year plan? we are 8 years in!!
Where will Dust be in another 2 years when they wasted 8 years and the beta? This company reminds me of when I was in Helmand, we would talk and talk to leadership but would they ever listen? nope they had a "vison" a plan and if reality did not fit it then too bad for reality, the "vision" would go on.
They just do not listen, they give lip service and do not actually engage with the community or playerbase any any real meaningful way. Hell the only time I would say they did was the day then ran PC testing with imps and another corp and that was just team true grit the other teams have no interest in that sort of on the ground testing and talking and interacting with players.
Not to mention the Staff turnaround in Shanghai is insane, people have been through their like a revolving door the past 8 years as dev staff walk in and walk out, I have watched the CCP jobs board since I started playing and you would be wise to pay attention to it as well.
Pretty sure CCP Blam has been gone for months.

The project is in free fall as leadership in Iceland and development in Shanghai are directionless and constantly miscommunicating with each other, the players and the marketing staff.
The right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing and are just passing prowords and talking points.
There is no AAA real experienced developers in Shanghai they are running a 70 man dev team that would take budgie and Bohemia interactive a team of 200-350 to get the job done. They have spent so much time working on things they cannot even implement or features and maps that are no longer compatible, pissing away time and energy and resources over and over.
CCP proper has literately put dust on the other side of the world and are managing like its right next door. They don't give their staff the freedom to succeed or make the decisions in a critical amount of time and yet fail to take the hands on approach to get a functional game out the door. Its classic mismanagement.
