As of now, imo, ccp has completely failed when trying change the fact that the cal proto logi suit is the best assault suit in game. Here's why. The proto cal logi has way more cpu, so whats 20 cpu that there removing really going to do anyway, I can level up 1 more level in electronics and then run my suit like it is now the exact same way. Furthermore whats a little tiny bit of shields, so what if the shield bonus is gone even with 5 complex extenders you might get what... 45 shields.. big deal. I personally dont run 5 extenders anyway, and so therefore it is even less hp lost, and now even with the delay worse... the logi suit gets a bonus to regulators. None of the changes really effect the logi suit enough to change the fact, its the best assault suit in the game, here is the problem. On a proto assault you have 3 low slots, if you want to rep your arm 1 is an armor rep module, if you want to have lots of proto modules, grenades, guns ect, 1 will be a cpu enhancement, that leaves 1 more low module slot for plate or w/e. But the cal proto logi gets 4 low slots...it dont need an armor rep module and has very high cpu...but just say you need it and use a cpu enhancer...ok now you have 3 low slots compared to the 1 on the assault suit. Any1 with common sense knows the hp or speed or w/e diffrence you can make with this many low slots unused. Further more the logi has 5 high's instead of 4. So you can have same amount of extenders with more damage or vice versa, or same extenders, same damage mods, with energizer, or w/e the combination its better. Basically the main point here is this....it has 9 total modules...the 5 highs give you an extra high powered module than the assault suit. It also has 4 lows....and bc of the cpu and auto armor rep the logi suit has...you end up having several more low slots than the assault suit. (Too many module slots and too much cpu to use them with). This is why the cal proto logi suit, was and still is, the best assault suit in the game. |

Points of clarification:
1. The racial bonus gave us 18 HP per extender. That's a loss of 90 HP total if you were running 5x Complex Extenders in your suit. If you were running 4x, you will need to run 5x to achieve the same HP.
2. The CPU nerf is 20 CPU from the base (195 to 175). This means the CPU at advanced will be 245 and 350 at proto.
3. At advanced level, you will now need Core Upgrades 4 and Electronics 4 to run an advanced weapon, AV grenades, 3x Complex Extenders, 2 basic plates, basic injector/repper, and advanced nanohives. You will need Electronics 5 if you want to swap an advanced drop uplink for the nanohives.
4. The CPU nerf at the advanced level now poses an unjust fitting skill requirement on Caldari that does not exist for Gallente and Minmatar, while at the same time nerfing its HP. It is now, by far, the weakest advanced suit with the lowest equipment potential. To run equivalent gear on the Caldari compared to Gallente/Minmatar, you need an additional 1 mil or 700k SP, respectively in CPU fitting skills. Add 777k if you want to run advanced drop uplinks on that suit.
CCP, CPM, whoever - please explain the rationale behind nerfing the CPU on the advanced and standard Caldari suit, and/or show me a fit that indicates balance between the three suits after the Caldari suit has been nerfed.
The removal of the racial bonus was unavoidable. The CPU nerf at the lower suit levels adds insult to injury and absolutely killls the balance between suits at the advanced level. |

I'll answer the question at their place because it quite obvious. For those that not always play proto or use the logistic class with equipment, we wanted to attemp a genocide on the Caldari folks."the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, Caste, religious, or national group"

The bonuses planned are things like better repping or longer lasting nanohives. They aren't introduced yet because of technical problems like nanohives losing the suit bonus after being deployed. |

Your decisions have very little meaning at all because CCP can and will completely alter your suit / weapons / vehicles with very little to no notice, and expect you to be totally cool with that. Considering some people actually pour real cash into this game, expecting them to just smile and HTFU as you steamroll into their builds....yea....

Also, logis actually do need those extra slots. Even with the higher CPU/PG, you still need to use a PG/CPU enhancer half the time because equipment is so damn demanding at better variants. Then you have to consider EWAR too, whenever the hell that stuff comes out. |

The thing is the new future systems will allow for more types of bonuses to make it in and hopefully will start going towards an eve like system where the baseline and specialist both get bonuses but specialists go further down a specific path while the baseline remains goody good overall generic.
Many things can happen in the future though just as long as you pick a suit and know what its future intended role will be it should by all accounts remain 'functional' in that role and hopefully 'superior' in that role in comparison to all other suit types.
The only suits I can see getting drastic role changes are suits that seemingly don't have one defined currently.
While I know its frustrating to many of you players who invest in large amounts of SP into the suits, just because they changed the bonuses doesn't mean that suit is instantly useless. I mean how many shield regen monsters have you run into? the kind that pop behind cover and pop back up with full shields? or the sort that fully recharge between your reloads?
I mean if there is anyone who should be genuinely scared of what is coming up its probably vehicle users. |

Well, to be honest, CCP just made a hard decision for me. I am ADV Caldari assault and logi. I've been playing as both and weighing the pros and cons, just trying to decide which I like better. Now I am just going to worry about core upgrades and AR proficiency until they figure out what the bonuses are going to be. That also let's me spend the 1.8 million somewhere else for now. I would suggest if you can just wait for Proto until they decide what the hell is going on. Might save some SP. |

I used 2 complex shields and 3 complex damage mods. Why do ppl use alot of shields? U just need enough not to be insta killed. I admit a lot of shields are useful reviving (I have a reviving fully shielded suit) but for assault? The assault suit is the best because of scrambler pistol and ar(extremely op). |
