I was all in favor of removing the free LAV, but now that they have it has impacted those of us who used them for transportation. I realize all I need to do is drive them to my destination then recall them, but I can't when as soon as I hop out someone hops in and drives off with it. I even had it happen where I drove to the only remaining supply depot to switch suits, then someone jacked it as I was switching. Realizing I wanted it back, he drove it to the redzone for it to blow up.
CCP, you must never underestimate the power of trolls and jerks.
We need an option to lock the driver seat and even an option to lock all other seats, along with an option to eject people out. Circle is unused, let us use that to toggle locks. L3 isn't being used, let us use that to eject people. |

It was a militia Onikuma, I'm honestly only using it to travel great distances because I use heavy frames a lot and am not going to chug that all the way to a base or supply depot when I need to get to one. |

It's not a matter of price, it's a matter of principle. These things are only 27,600 ISK, I can buy so many of them it's not even funny. But some troll shouldn't be able to make off with my money just because he feels sad that day. If this isn't fixed by the time we have speeders it will be horrible, so why not just fix it now? Everyone's been asking for it. |

Drivers, Tankers, and Pilots alike have been screaming for this exact solution but idk if anyone's voices will ever be heard.
The feeling of losing something you work for is a horrible one.
I recall a squadmate getting ran over as he was calling in his LLAV. Knowing that he worked hard for it I told him to go to the current squad objective then I hopped in and drove it back to him. We then went on a rampage with me in the gunner seat and eventually found and killed the butt plug that ran him over in the first place... `sigh good times  |

I agree with the need for a lock. This has been requested by the community since replication build during closed beta that it's a mystery why CCP didn't implement this already. |

No. This has been an issue the whole time, the removal of free LAVs just made it more evident.
Seriously free LAVs were a huge problem, and not just in the way you think. Have you ever considered that since it didn't cost anyone anything they would drive their LAV to their destination and get out leaving the free LAV sitting there, then if someone wants to deploy their vehicle they actually skilled into they can't because the team quota is met. Now that people have to pay (even a measly 27k) for the vehicle they actually take the effort to recall them. |

only recently did i notice every player calling in free lavs before it was removed...
could this have something to do with the proto users always complaining? |

You have to be insane if you think people are calling in enough tanks to reach the team quota.
Nearly everyone was calling in a free LAV at the beginning of the match because they're free, and never recalling them. That was the problem.
I honestly don't know why you are defending the free LAVs that much unless you were abusing them. Is it really that hard to spend 27K ISK? |

Completely necessary. + 1 every time I see someone post something like this. Not a completely new subject but really necessary. BTW, did I mention how necessary this is. I earned My isk. I fought for it and deserve to ave nice and pretty thing. I would like to add an option on the fittings menu that says LOCKED or UNLOCKED. That way when you call in the fitting it will come out locked or unlocked depending on what you chose. If Unlocked then anyone can get in the drivers seat. If locked, only your squad mates because, let's be honest, most people squad with people they trust and if you don't well te list of potential thieves is lowered |

Stealing LAVs, HAVs and Dropships are fine ... you just need to steal them from the other team. :)
Last night I killed someone calling in a DropShip, took his DropShip to the top of a tower, dropped off an uplink, and then flew his dropship around till I crashed it. 
Good time was had by all (except probably the merc I killed as the dropship was dropped off  ).
Seriously though, adding locks would make sense, since it would explain why you had to bother hacking Vehicles/Installations (changing the security codes?).
By the same token, if we do have vehicle locks (and we should), they should also include the ability to hack unoccupied friendly vehicles (or have them automatically unlock after X period of time unoccupied, or if your clone is X distance away). |

I was stalking a guy and he stopped to call in a vehicle so I stabbed him in the face! A teammate showed up (from both teams) and a shootout commenced. After winning I turned to find a beautiful dropship (expecting an LAV) and commenced to hack it. My teammate jumped into the pilots seat and I was the gunner. `sigh I f*****g love playing with my corp  |

Had one delightful instance where I was running my anti-LLAV LAV to stop a Charybdis terrorising our team... pulled in front to block his mowing attempt on a friendly then shot the driver out with the compressed Blaster, finishing up the deed on the derelict vehicle with a Forge salvo.
...Except by this time the blueberry I'd just rescued had made off with my 70k LAV.
Two minutes later, "Kill: -50 WP". Cheers mate. Nice driving.
Driver lock for anyone not in your squad or corp would go a long way. |

Thats why you steal it from the other team before you go try your Piloting lesson, after all, its not like the lesson is costing YOU anything. |
