Caldari has max Shielding and best recharge now, Min has speed comparable to Assaults, can Shield tank, and can take objectives, before the enemy swarm arrives. Gallente used to be the most versatile suit, but now Amarr has a side-arm and an additional EQ slot at ADV with an additional low in proto. They make up for Armor tanking by being the best at DPS of all Logibros and max repair rate, and remains the only Logi that can actually AV without being useless against infantry.
So where does this leave Gallente? The passive skill is mediocre, the suit is build to armor tank, and without a side-arm and the repair rate of Amarr, it can't make up for being inferior to Shield tankers. EQ abuse doesn't work out either. Scanners don't provide any WP, and only scouts have a reason to use them, there is no reason to skill up to proto RE/PM. Needle at a proto level doesn't strain the suit for the passive to really take effect. To a lesser extent, the same goes for the Gauged Nanohive. I suppose proto repair tool is good to have, but honestly Triage ADV will get you going fine. The only real EQ that takes advantage of the Gallente passive are Triage Nanohives, but to use the Gallente just lower the CPU of Triage Hives by 21 is hardly a reason to use Gallente over any other Logi suit. |

Cat_Merc and I put together a buff proposal aimed at Gallente suits a week or two back.
We proposed giving them either a 50% role or 10% per level bonus to Armor Repair System and Reactive Plate repair rate, and that that bonus be on the Medium suits, such that you don't have to get up into Prototype Specialist suits to be effective as a Gallente player. We also suggested doubling the armor amount of reactive plates.
Thus, at max skill and with Complex mods, you can easily get several hundred hitpoints with a repair rate of up to 30hp/s. This would mean that Gallente fits would have less hp overall, but would be able to rep what they had very rapidly to fit their weapons which require getting in close to do optimal damage. |

Amarr always had a sidearm at proto, but only 6 mod slots, now they have 7. The sidearm thing is only new for the STD and ADV ones. The Gallente one has 8 mod slots, 5 lows for high HP armor tanking. Also 4 equipment slots unlike the Amarr and Caldari ones. Gk.0 also has the most PG/CPU out of all proto logis I believe. The suit is fine, armor just needs a buff. |

That's my point. Shield tanking > 4 slots. Side arm > 4 slots. The only reason to use the fourth slot is really for REs, which may or may not be useful depending on the map while shield tanking and Side-arm is always useful period. And armor tanking is terrible, you still get OHKO'd by grenades, you're slow as a snail, you have inferior repair rate, and you alsways have to compete with stuff like CPU/PG upgrades, and they will always win over armor plates. This means the Gallente has to rely on it's passive skill to stand out, but the passive skill is so mediocre, it make that it makes the suit inferior to the rest of the Logis. |

You can't forget that the Amarr Logi had the lowest PG out of them all. A base powergrid of 66 compared to the 78 all the other Logisuits have. Oh and also they are the slowest Logisuit with a 4.5 movement speed and a 6.4 sprint speed. |

The Gallente Logi Suit is the best Logi suit IMO.
The problem with it is a CCP favoring shields over armor problem, not the suit sucking problem. |

I think you read the Dev Blog incorrectly. We amarr logistics are getting a fourth low slot at Proto level and a third equipment slot at ADV. we only have two equipment slots at STD and ADV at the moment |

Gallente's a good 'un, -25% to fitting on the 4 equipment slots goes a long way.
Armour tank isn't as good as shields but Gallente Logi is closest to getting it on par. Highly advised to carry Wiyrkomi Triage Nanohives, placement in a good position can allow you and other armour tankers to engage while backed by +70hp/s repair, +140hp/s if you double them up. |

Uhhh you know how you get to just stack your entire suit with Proto gear and complex mods? Guess what, real dropsuits don't actually get to do that. |

Gallente Suits can.
If you get the CPU and PG maxing skills for logi and reduce the CPU of your light weapon it's very possible.
I did it with my Gallente Assault gk.0 and I have some CPU and PG to spare.

You obviously haven't tried fitting a Gallente logi suit so I won't bother proving your idiotic statement false. And OP, our passive is amazing. In comparing it to passives that aid our 'LOGI ROLE' it's the best goddamn passive in the game. It makes our equipment fittings easier. "But the Caldari have a better shielding". Can they support there squad with 4 equipment slots all proto while not losing to much in self defense modding? "Min have speed," You trying to solo chase someone down without your squad? "They can Sheild tank," they have 4 high slots. 4 low slots. Sheild tanking is Justinian your high slots to extend your Sheilds. Gallente can do that too. Fit 3 extenders, 3 plates, a rep and a regulator. Done, hybrid tanking. "Amar have a side arm," so far it just sounds like you want our LOGI suit to frontline.
Our suit is the best suit for pure support logi'ing. Our suits only issue is that we're slow and forced to mostly stack armor for survivability. Other than that it is a great supporting logi suit. All your points just make it sound like you need to stop being a logi and just assault. You might feel better. |
