Paying = Winning
Winning = fun
therefore,
paying = fun
in contrast
Grinding for FOTM then getting it nerfed = losing
losing = unfun
Therefore,
Grinding = unfun
In conslusion: paying for respecs would save this game. I know a lot of the vets are getting sick of it. If you noob ccp fan bois think this game would survive without its core group, consider that the average players online never broke 10k, and last we all checked, was around 3k (ccp hides it). If i had to guess, it's probably even lower by now.
CCP, i will give you $20 if you allow me to have fun. Do you accept this offer? On the contrary, you can ask me and the other core players to grind for 2 months after every "change" to the things we just specced into, until we all get tired of chasing the FOTM because we dont want to lose, and go play other games where our favorite weapons do not change.
CCP, we are console gamers. When we buy a game, it is out of beta. If i want to spend 3 months grinding to be a lvl 50 elf rogue with archery mastery and alchemy mastery, i will be able to do just as well in 1 years as i can right now. We do not have the patience for your games that you play where we play slots with our time and money (I pay $ for SP, and I skill into gear with SP, so devalued gear = lost money). If you cannot work with this, as Sony is starting to see, then you should return to Spreadsheet the Game and leave shooters to companies who understand how not to **** off their customers with every update.
Thank you,
-A guy who loves dust
PS: To any noobs who want to tell me "good I'll have fun without you whiny 'vets' and your cry baby posts", then I say to you, "have fun with 1000 players online, tops, when the vets leave, because we've kept this game afloat with hope and skill boosters, alone. A game with that small a player base, will not last, so unless CCP pleases us, you will have wasted money just like we did." |

That's great. What happens when enough players leave that there are 1000 people online at a time?---> the game will not be supported, any further. New players do not stick with this game because of the horrible matchmaking. Vets leave because they end up having wasted money and even more precious time getting gear that is nerfed without their consent. The math is simple: Dust cannot survive in its current state, whether you, personally, stay or not, because players leave every day, and nobody sticks around to fill their spot. |

Michael Arck wrote:Ok but nobody asked you to play this game. And you knew (or at least should have) knew how CCP works. You should already have read or seen the video where CCP goes on to say they have a 10 year plan.
A 10 year plan!!
Yet people like you have every threat in the back, talking about core gamers leaving and blah blah blah. And if the vets did leave, the noobs would have much more fun, which in turn could incite another surge of new players. I go on Dust and I interact with plenty of folks who just love this game.
You couldn't tell that coming to this forum though. The problem is you mercenaries don't want to grind anymore because yall feel privileged because yall deem yourselves vets? You're the old man in the wheelchair that we are ready to push out of the window. Go to a nursing home if one is available in New Eden
What happens when the vets leave? We account for the majority of the playerbase because we WANT this game to be good. Without us, there might be 1000 players on at once, and no game that small would be supported by a company like Sony. You can defend CCP all you want, but this game does not exist without us and we are the ones who are sick of a broken game. So unless you don't want this game to be suppported, you might want to urge CCP to consider appeasing its core players who have stuck through their bs for enough time to doubt their resolve. |

A game has to be good to be p2p and succeed- dust is not good. it is not even OK. Your logic is flawed on that, alone. |

The math is simple: Dust cannot survive in its current state, whether you, personally, stay or not, because players leave every day, and nobody sticks around to fill their spot. I have a very frightening and possibly world-altering concept to introduce you to. It's something called the "vocal minority". Have you noticed that the people saying that the game is doomed unless they can move their SP out of Logi suits are quite commonly outnumbered? Have you considered the fact we've discussed many times in the past: that the portion of the playerbase that actually even uses these forums is quite small? All told, if every last angry player on these forums was to leave, I think Dust could handle losing a max of around 100 players.
Stubborn people like you are holding Dust back. CCP needs to let the most critical players do what they do and truly listen to us or dust will never advance. If CCP listened to the Imperfects and not the scrubs, dust would be pretty good. If you actually look back in the forums to 2012 and early, early 2013, you will see that many of the problems we have now were predicted by them. Everything from AR assaults being the only viable class to shield tanks being obsolete, a small player base, and SP gap that cannot be overcome, and a rage quit of many players when nobody is having fun, anymore. CCP needs to take a look back at them. It's sad that they left, because since they were all good players, their opinions were unbiased. Too bad none of the newer players were around for that or they'd be laughing their asses off with the rest of the vets as one prophecy after another comes to pass. |
