Here's the part regarding this on the latest post of the weekly updates on bug reports:
[BUG] Vehicle armor reps repair 3x what they should https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=90289&find=unread Status: A defect on this has been reported and a fix planned for in a future update.
So, armor reps were never designed to repair 3x as much as boosters. Are armor reps going to get nerfed badly? Are shield tanks going to become kings again?
Although I am a shield tanker, I hope they don't nerf armor reps. In the current state HAVs are in, armor tanks will melt even faster than shield tanks now.
If anything, keep the armor reps as they are and instead buff shield boosters (how many times will I suggest something like 5000hp in 5s for heavy clarity ward boosters?)
On a sidenote, it's taken CCP this long to say anything regarding this imbalance? (And not positively either for that matter.) My hopes for CCP giving HAVs the love they need has been lost. |

I saw the thread that brought up the issue. It would be devastating to armor HAV's so much that I don't even have words for it. |

About time. Now having more speed, higher ehp, extremely effective reps and better hardeners will actually make sense. Armor tanks absorb high amounts of damage then retreat and rep lots of hp over a longer time. Where shields have less of everything but their boosters work much faster. Currently armor tanks are up in all aspects( "up" not meaning underpowered). |

Honestly they need to buff shield reppers to be in the apparently bugged state of armor reppers. |

I agree[/quote] Armor tanks are just about the right difficulty for taking down, while shield tanks melt (in tank v tank; for now AV is stronger against armor but someday there will be an equal amount of AV against shield as well). I've also had the same opinion for a long time that shield modules need to be buffed without nerfing armor at all. |

I agree completely. Right now std armor HAV's hold up pretty good against std level AV, as do shield HAV's. But the main reason that armor HAV's stand up to them so well is because of the repper in my experience. For shield HAV's its mostly the innate resistances that shields have against the most common types of av, but when it comes to tank on tank fights armor do win hands down because of the armor repper. I agree with the OP with his suggestion about shield boosters need to do around 5000 hp during there rep cycle to make them more competitive. |

Thanks for the heads up. Something works okay for a change so it must be a bug and fixed.

Agreed, armour reppers are very nice right now, for a dropship pilot, anyway. If anything, extend the pulse interval, so it takes longer to regenerate damage, so the window between damage taken and the ability to nail another shot in before the repairer really kicks in opens up for that burst damage for coordinated AV.
ie. it takes longer to repair the same amount
And yeah, shield boosters should be the opposite. Short pulse, high regeneration. Shields already have permanent passive regen. If boosters have a shorter pulse, shield tankers will be forced to let their shields drop dangerously low before using them for maximum benefit, but it should regenerate shields extremely fast. Its good, but there will also be the disadvantage of being unable to passive tank, since the booster should regenerates all shields, which results in useless passive regeneration. |

If its true then armor is more ****** than shield since everything rocks armor hard and with AV nades hitting 6k+ damage with proto then yea that armor tanks is toast
If anything the rep saves armor tanks alot of the time, in tank battles, in survival against infantry, in basically all situations
They should boost the shield rep in comparision because having low reps against high AV damage will not work
A 2500rep no matter what tank takes 5sec for shield and 15 for armor but yet even basic AV can deal 2k damage in that time anyways
AV nades 3 easy to throw minimum 3k damage
SL basic is 1200 damage and its easy to lock on and fire 2-3 in 15 seconds, add on 20% extra for armor and -20% for shield
FG if the assault version hits hard and fast while the breach can just take away everything your rep has just done in 1 shot
If the reps are reduced then all forms of AV need to be reduced by 50% at least because tanks will not be able to survive at all and will be the most useless class |

I would really like a clarification on this as well. Right now the only reason armor tanks are viable is because of the reps. Without the ability to soak damage, they will not be viable on the battlefield.
This is one of those cases where I would actually become a doomsayer if this were to be adjusted downwards. Tanks do not need any sort of nerf right now, only buffs. |

CCP - fixing the bugs that are actually beneficial!
Maybe we were wrong all along and they should go back on holiday again... it's been a couple days since the last so they must be due for a week vacation at least. |

Shields also withstand STD AV because of their natural resistances to common AV. Remove their repping power and armor vehicles become worse than shield vehicles now due to AV being bonused against armor. On a sidenote, it's taken CCP this long to say anything regarding this imbalance? (And not positively either for that matter.) My hopes for CCP giving HAVs the love they need has been lost. Second sidenote, let us not forget about our dear armor dropships. They will be the new flavor of the month for the shittiest vehicles. WAIT WHAT!!! THIS EFFECTS ARMOR DROPDHIPS TOO!!!! I thought this was just for heavy armor reps. Ah s***! Great just great, so if a forge mutilates me i cant even lick my wounds fast enough to survive another hit.
And i cant even sheild tank because forge guns have a bonus towards them and i would still need a armor rep to fix fires. |

Now there's only more reason for armor reps to maintain their repping power, as every AV weapon (except for railguns and fluxes) are bonused against armor. Even MDs and Flaylocks can kill armor vehicles. I witnessed a corpmate lose his Madrugar to a MD yesterday. And the other day another corpmate announced that he killed a tank with his sniper rifle. |

Shield tanks wont and shouldn't get it.
Shield Boosters should be similar, not identical.
Shield HAVs still have their passive regen. |
