[quote=hooc order]Quote:As an Amarr Logi since the beginning of Uprising, I have never cried for a respec. The fact Cal Logi's are crying for one now over this very forgiving nerf, Disgusts me.
They are not crying they are just asking for a respec.

They are not assault suits. So let them respec into assault suits. And so goes the most idiotic saying ever. Why even have a turn based PRG style leveling system from the 80s?...hell from the 70s...this stuff was taken from dungeon and dragons. Shouldn't we be adopting to players and their actual game playing skills rather then adopting to a video game anachronism meant to tell stories?
I simply must point out that you just made our argument for us. You're right, they AREN'T assault suits. So, those people who used them as such should be rewarded why? They have had months of win, and now that the suit is being modified to suit its intended role instead of the one they abused it with, they should be given the SP back to go into something else?
WHY DOES NOBODY REALIZE THAT THIS MENTALITY WILL ONLY RESULT IN CONTINUED ABUSE OF EVERY FLAVOR OF THE MONTH AND ALLOW THE SHORTSIGHTED TO BENEFIT HEAVILY? There will be no point in actually thinking things through because blindly spec'ing in to whatever is currently OP will always be rewarded.
Rant over. |

Well.. there are only three scenarios here. 1. You let those players spec into assault suits instead, so they can actually be assault players. 2. They continue to play cal logi assault (relatively effectively for most, except for shotgun logis which got it the worst). 3. They quit the game. Which would you prefer?
I don't want anyone to leave the game, I want it to be balanced and not give people who follow the OP path carte blanche to keep doing it and ruining it for everyone else. Why do we want the higher end players to be able to keep rearranging their SP whenever they feel like it? That doesn't help the new players or diversity. It's a very different philosophy than being HaRd CoRe!!1!!1! and wanting everyone else out. So, I choose 2, they made their bed and now lie in it. You could also add 4, they realize their mistake, play logi for now and then skill into assault. It's not like the suit is useless now, you can still do a lot with CPU modules and the 5 high slots.
Look, it's not like I wouldn't benefit from a respec myself: I had started going into Amarr logi because it's intended function (durable combat logi with a sidearm) fits my playstyle. I got tired of waiting for them to fix it, and against my better judgement went into caldari logi using my triple SP, though I did have the good sense to stop at level 3 because I just knew it would be nerfed at some point because it was ludicrous how unkillable they were. So, I wasted a pretty good chunk of my triple SP skilling into another race's tree entirely. And guess what, do I QQ because a much-needed adjustment was made? No, I learn my lesson and have more foresight next time. If they start handing out respecs I'm going to take it because I don't enjoy getting protostomped in pub matches and I'm not about to lose any ground to the FotM chasers, but I don't think it's a good decision for them to do it. Periodic respecs, especially if they make changes to the skill tree itself, sure, that makes sense. But, anyone who thinks that every weapon and suit will stay exactly the same it is, especially when there is a clear problem like with the old TAR's and now the calLogi, is not paying attention. |
