First Ace Combat game I ever played was AC04, and it still remains my favorite to this day, so seeing as this new downloadable title looks to be an HD semi-remake of it, I can't describe my excitement.

I have a dislike of the word retcon ever since they retconned the republic commando novels. I've heard about that. Funny enough, they actually did that with the Halo novels too, and about the dumbest things. Not sure if you've ever heard of Halo Legends, but it was a collection of anime short films by several Japanese studios. They actually re-released the original 3 novels with changes made to them to account for story elements of those short films, while doing nothing to address the discrepancies between the novels and the games, since Microsoft had handled their production and not Bungie, resulting in many details being incorrect or even conflicting. However, in this case, what I meant by that is that instead of having that alternate version of Earth, they are adapting the events of the games into an alternate history of our version of Earth.

I'm just concerned is all. I grew up with these games, and they hold a special meaning to me. I would hate to see my precious Ace Combat continue down the wrong road. Agreed, but considering it's pretty obvious that the skin packs were the best sellers on both PSN and XBL, I think there's a good chance their MT model will be mostly aimed at cosmetics.
