I'm starting to be pi$sed off of rail snipers, sometime i do, but most of the time i'm not in the red line. I know the rail is made for long range fighting, i know the main turret rendering distance sucks but i also know that is boring fight from side to side of the map with another rail tank. I don't know what CCP can do about this, so if you have suggestion please, share with us. |

The rail shot should travel straight for the first 200 meters then it should have a falloff. |

there is no fun in railgun sniping, but as AV is OP there is nothing for HAV to do (shield HAV atleast) |

If you have a ~1.5 million ISK standandard HAV/tank would you go down to the battlefield just to get it smashed by prototype anti vehicle ( ghost forge guns, invisible swarms and laigodmodedai), given that the profit you might make at the end of the match is just the 10% of your total loss asumming you only loose the tank and not considering your dropsuit.
Now if a player continues doing this for several weeks suddenly you might end up being out of ISK, it is hard as a tanker to fund yourself so your best bet is to join a corporation that is willing to bail your tank expenses. |

It can be a waste, go on the battlefield if your team don't care about you, but i saw railsnipers living in their red line when their team owns all the objectives |

Stop QQing. CCP has already screwed us over by limiting our render range to 300 m. |

Yet again, how are the Minmatar's projectile weapons as effective? |

What I usually do is get my forge gun and suppress the tank the entire game, most of railgun snipers are no different than infantry camping snipers, they just know one spot and can't improvise if they're suppressed. It is a boring job, but a very important one. Most of the time instead of finding another sniping spot, they would send infantry after me, things can get nasty if you don't have your side arm skills up.
You could also try to order an orbital on him, but most good tankers can survive an OB. So again, best solution is suppression. |

Yet again, how are the Minmatar's projectile weapons as effective? Because minmatar are boss. Projectiles are apparently statistically the best, since they deal 95% damage on shields, but 110% on armor. Why even use railguns when projectiles have better damage percentages?
As soon as precision rifles and artillery is out, railguns and sniper rifles will be long forgotten. |

Being a tanker myself I don't like those who hide where no av infantry can get them other than another tank. When I use my railgun gunnlogi I'm on the front lines with my infantry. If my infantry can't help me help them than I recall the tank. These tankers are either cheap people or are ones who don't trust their infantry to prevent a guy with Lai dais to run up at them. In some cases I can see why they do it, others I can't. I don't think it'd because they don't wanna loose an expensive tank, but that they don't wanna die in general cause lots of the time a rail sniper can easily be a soma or sica. Preventing rail sniping is gonna be hard to do but making it harder to do is another thing. |

give rail a kick, so you need to aim again for the second shot, more kick than the one they have now. |

Be creative in your approach.
Ask yourself.
How close is that red line rail tank to the red coline? If close - consider rushing his position with an LLAV fit with good resistances and 2 of your best mates also carrying appropriate AV for the tank and suicide gank them. I find this effective if they are preoccupied.
If far - consider loading up a dropship with your best AV friends, fly VERY high, and dive upon his position, all jumping and raining the appropriate nades and weapons upon him. I have also seen and used this tactic to great effect.
Also, you may want to consider double, triple teaming the enemy tank from multiple angles. While his cover may protect one side, it may not cover his flanks!
And if all else fails, you can simply suppress the enemy tank with your own rail fire. |
