Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone has, in the last few weeks, found aiming a single shot at a moving target very tough?
I used to be able to charge up my scrambler rifle, or just pop off one or two shots for definite hits (when the reticule is on them). Now I find that I can't hit moving targets at all.
Has my aim gone down the shitter or is hit detection / hitboxes a bit broken?
I sometimes make the shot when I aim a *good* bit ahead of the person moving (eg: with Scrambler Rifle charge shot, I have to aim about a 'hands breadth' in front of the enemies body to hit them. You can forget about running headshots with it - that hasn't been possible for me since 1.2.
Same applies to my beloved scrambler pistol - silly standing still targets are the only use for that personally these days also.
Help me ObiOne, you're my only hope!
Thanks for the info + insights :) |

There's good evidence to suggest that hit-boxes are a bit messed up at the moment. |

Hit detection on some weapons suck, or at least is more noticable.
Just yesterday I hit a Cal Logi 3 times with a Shotgun and they didn't take any damage. |

Yes, Shotguns are messed for me too :( I would love to know why/how its changed so drastically o_0
I've temporarily switched to the AR, which I have 0 skills in and I'm finding it a much better alternative for the time being. Its just frustrating that I've invested into Scrambler Rifles n Pistols and now I can only shoot the wind!
Also, i'm fairly guilty of occasionally (but only out of necessity) switching to Mass Driver. Its like ... win mode these days with that gun - Flux Nades + MD for any team and you just demolish.
Miss my versatile Scramblers tho! |

Yah I've noticed some hit detection problems. It seems to come and go. Also seems to be a little different than, chromosome hit detection problem. It seems to be more sustained, given a particular instance, yet not as frequent perhaps (it's hard to tell). |

Something appears to be off and I think it's something recent. When connecting with a charge sniper rifle, the bullet leaves this blue puff particle effect on impact. I've seen the puff of friendship appear on the bodies of targets hit, where I hit them, but the target receives no damage. Hit detection was always kind of weird but you adapt to it. This latest patch feels even weirder. |

To resolve the ragdoll nanite injection problem (and others of the sort)ccp did some vodooo that increased latency and uncovered some server issues that cant be hotfixed, a hardware upgrade would be needed |

Yes, I've noticed some crazy stuff happening. Sniper rifles trying to hit scouts (its prob just my aiming is terrible) is almost impossible these days - sprinting medium suits is ok so long as you can get their trajectory down but up-close shouldn't be a problem.
The amount of times that I full-charge shot and completely miss someone with a Scrambler Rifle and then they notice me / advance on me and i'm backing off/charging another shot that shouldn't hit- and it does is surprising. I've made more jammy/trick shots by aiming around the person - not at them - in recent days than ever.
its frustrating to say the least!
Who knows o_0 maybe i'll just stick to the AOE weapons or the Spray n Pray. |

i am experiencing absolutely the same! good to see i'm not alone.
i play since open beta, and use the scr since uprising. so i can also tell since ccp improved the ranges we are experiencing a bigger lag on hit detection.
LAG? yes i'm talking bout lags because i have the strong feeling the game has problems to count the hits. I just had this yesterday. an amarr assault ran straight away from me, i aimed for his upper back and the dot was on the enemy for 9 rounds I shot. not a single bullet was counted.
thats ****** up. especially if u know how the scrambler works: in a regular game you spot the enemy and line up your shot. once you got a proper aim, you spam 6-10 bullets. with nice hitdetection this is a massive spam, and with 79 dmg on every single bullet, nearly everything should be dead.
when horrible hit detection comes into play you have a huge problem on this: lets say you spam 10 bullets. 1 get counted (i'm not overdoing it here, thats just the regular way how it often happens to me) the enemy will start a counter attack because ccp blocked your killer sneak peak attack. enemy shoots you, you shoot back, but cant aim on a hurry on proper distance. you overheat, you die.
tldr: CCP hitdetection is very bad atm, I'm afraid of using charged shots. and with extending the ranges on the ar, the scr is only have usefull anymore because it used to have a bigger range than the ar, now that the ARs have more range eith nearly 0 bullet spread the scr wont hold the challange against them.
oh and the automatic scr has way to much kick. i just compared the regular GEK (no further skills im ars) to the carthum assault scrambler (proto) and i can say the auto scrambler has three times the kick of the gek.
this needs to be changes asap, otherwise we will go back to ar514. |

Hit detection in general is very screwy.
It's very apparent with a Burst Heavy Machine Gun. Countless times I've fired off a burst, and the target registers the hits and dies a noticeable amount of time after the gun has stopped firing - even at point blank.
Or the targets register one bullet out of the 45(wtf), despite the insanely rapid fire speed. |
